Not the hero we need, but the hero we deserve.

Yesterday, Ryan Reynolds recognized the real star of Deadpool 2 by sharing a heroic solo poster for Rob Delaney's Peter -- a character who has already become a fan-favorite.

On his Instagram page, Reynolds unveiled the poster, which features Delaney's Peter in the middle of his epic parachute fall. The poster is made even more grand thanks to the inclusion of a crackling lightning strike, calling back to mind the classic cover of Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

Delaney's mustachioed Peter became an instant fan-favorite after the release of the second Deadpool 2 trailer. With his now famous "I just saw the ad" line, which also features on the poster, the character's simplistic and bumbling nature in a world of mutants and superheroes made everyone believe he was the real hero of this story.

Clearly, even Ryan Reynolds believes so.
