Ryan Reynolds makes his return as the Merc with a Mouth this weekend in Deadpool 2, which is on a trajectory for a $300 million-plus opening weekend at the worldwide box office.

According to Deadline, the Fox sequel is tracking toward a global debut of between $305 million and $350 million, with the domestic market accounting for between $130 million to $150 million of that. That gives Deadpool 2 a chance to pass the $132.4 million opening of the 2016 original to claim the record for highest-grossing U.S. debut for an R-rated film. The original Deadpool ended its theatrical run as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time with a worldwide total of $783.1 million.
