Wade Wilson's one true love Vanessa had a rough go of things in "Deadpool." She was kidnapped and almost killed by a mutant sociopath, only to find out that her long-lost boyfriend had become a hideously disfigured anti-hero. Nevertheless, the character seemed pretty happy at the end of last year's hit, where she made amends with the Merc With a Mouth and helped save the day. Now that "Deadpool 2" is on the horizon, star Morena Baccarin revealed her hopes for her character's direction in the burgeoning franchise.

"I would love to see the evolution of [Copycat], and how she becomes that. I also think it's very interesting to see the relationship with her and Wade after the whole thing. His whole demeanor changing. And just how they continue their relationship," she told CinemaBlend.

In the comics, Copycat is another name for Vanessa, who is a mutant with the ability to shapeshift and mimic those around her. Her abilities would be a huge asset to Deadpool, considering that he doesn't exactly blend in well, but fans probably shouldn't get too excited at the prospect. Baccarin isn't sure if Vanessa will manifest her powers just yet.

"Obviously everyone wants to see Copycat. I have no idea if that's something they have in the works or not," she said.

Either Baccarin is keeping her cards close to the chest or she genuinely doesn't know if Copycat will show up in the upcoming sequel. With the introduction of Domino, it seems more likely that she would manfest mutant powers in a third "Deadpool" film or even "X-Force," rather than during Wade's next outing in "Deadpool 2."

Directed by David Leitch (“John Wick”), the as-yet untitled “Deadpool” sequel will once again star Ryan Reynolds, joined (so far) by Zazie Beetz as Domino, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Karan Soni as Dopinder and, presumably, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus; and is expected for release in 2018.
