Leslie Uggams will reprise her role as Blind Al in the upcoming "Deadpool" sequel. Asked if she would return as Wade Wilson's blind, wisecracking roommate, Uggams told Blackfilm.com, "Definitely." Uggams joins a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino and Josh Brolin as Cable.

Uggams will play a supportive role in the upcoming HBO film "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," which will broadcast on April 22. She also appears on Fox's ongoing drama series "Empire" as Leak Walker. Aside from the confirmation of Blind Al's return, no further details on the character's role in the film have been revealed.

"Deadpool 2" will introduce Cable, leader of the X-Force, and Deadpool's X-Force teammate Domino. Cable co-creator Rob Liefeld recently gave Brolin his stamp of approval with an illustration of Brolin as the time-travelling mutant. Because of the major emphasis on new characters in "Deadpool 2," many expect that the film will create an entry point for an "X-Force" film franchise of its own.

Arriving in theaters in 2018, "Deadpool 2" will see the return of Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams, along with newcomers Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin. The film is directed by “John Wick’s” David Leitch.
