It was already known that Deadpool 2 considered enlisting Chris Evans to reprise his role as the Human Torch for a cameo, but at one point the sequel's writers envisioned reunited the cast of 2015's Fantastic Four as well.
In an interview with Yahoo, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick revealed that one, at one point, they envisioned bringing in the stars of the failed Fantastic Four reboot to "one-up" the planned Evans cameo. However, that end-credits scene was only scripted and never actually filmed.
Although Fox's Fantastic Four -- Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell -- didn't reunite for Deadpool 2, producer Simon Kinberg has said the studio loved the cast, and would love to make another movie, but only if filmmakers can get the tone right.
In theaters now, director David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Julian Dennison as Russell and Josh Brolin as Cable.
