Who needs a fan-art interpretation of what an actor might look like in a film role when you have Ryan Reynolds?

The "Deadpool" star followed his announcement that Zazie Beetz will play Domino in the Fox sequel with his own take on the "Atlanta" actress as the mutant mercenary.

It's of course a variant cover for Marvel Comics' "Deadpool & the Mercs for Money" #5, with some not-so-fancy Photoshop work that replaces "Mercs" in the title with "Mission," and plops Beetz's head on the body of Domino. What more could you ask for? The image is accompanied by the text, "Zazie Beetz Effect."

The casting of the 25-year-old breakout star of FX's "Atlanta" brings to an end months of speculation about who might play the pivotal role of Domino in "Deadpool 2." Rumors had included actresses ranging from Sofia Boutella (“Star Trek Beyond”) and Sienna Miller (“American Sniper”) to Ruby Rose (“Orange is the New Black”) and, more recently, Kerry Washington ("Scandal"), but never seemed to touch upon Beetz.

With Beetz attached to the sequel, speculation will undoubtedly turn once again to Cable, a role that's spawned a virtual rumor cottage industry.

Created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, Domino has a long, and sometimes complicated, history with X-Men, X-Force, Deadpool and Cable, who has been her partner and lover. The product of a top-secret government program to develop the perfect weapon, she is an expert marksman and hand-to-hand combatant with the mutant ability to alter probability within her line of sight, creating “good luck” for herself and “bad luck” for her opponents.

Directed by David Leitch (“John Wick”), the “Deadpool” sequel see Reynolds reprise his role as the Merc With a Mouth, joined (so far) by Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić, presumably, as the voice of Colossus, and now Beetz as Domino. The film is targeted for release in 2018.
