It's not a surprise that Fox's raunchy X-Men film didn't really land many sponsorship deals the first time around. But having proven himself as a blockbuster franchise leading man, Wade Wilson's more than happy to sell out while promoting Deadpool 2.
While Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth was more than happy to lend a dirty joke or three in support of a number of charitable causes when the first Deadpool was tearing up the box office (a trend he's happily continuing for the sequel), there weren't many companies willing to sign an uber-violent, potty-mouthed killer to endorse their products. This time around, however, Deadpool has been given the chance to properly sell out, and he's happy to do so.
Today marks the debut of Deadpool 2's spot for DEVOUR, a frozen food company that has tapped 'Pool to help it promote a new line of grilled cheese sandwiches. And the commercial is as insane as you'd expect; it opens with Wade casually riding a unicorn through a supermarket and greeting his Sausage Party-esque friends in the frozen food aisle before being confronted by a young girl who pointedly asked him if he's selling out. "Of course I am," 'Pool replies after taking a slight pause to properly show off DEVOUR's Philly Cheesesteak sandwich.
As for what happens to the unicorn, well -- you'll have to check out the commercial yourself for that little plot twist.
