This is more than likely the joke that was always going to be in Deadpool 2. A new clip for 20th Century Fox's highly-anticipated film has just been revealed and, in it, we see Ryan Reynold's snappy, fourth-wall breaking mutant mercenary poke fun at the most talked about scene from the DC Extended Universe movie, Batman v Superman.

The clip, which debuted Monday morning on ABC's Good Morning America, features a scene we already glimpsed in the movie's trailer, where an unmasked Wade Wilson walks into his home to find his girlfriend Vanessa impatiently waiting for him. He apologizes for being late, cooking up a story about children stuck in a tree. But when that obviously doesn't fly, he brings in the big guns: "I was fighting a caped badass, but then we discovered his mom is named Martha, too."

The line obviously pokes fun at the infamous "Martha!" scene from Batman v Superman, which saw the two titular superheroes stop their gladiatorial fighting match when they discover that both of their mothers have the same. It's a scene that has been on the receiving end of much criticism and ridicule, which makes it a shoe-in for Deadpool's special brand of humor.

This is now the second dig at DC in the film, after the hilarious "So dark, you're sure you're not from the DC Universe?" line from Deadpool 2's final trailer. Who knows how many more DC jokes will be in the film?
