Class is officially in session in the first trailer for SyFy's adaption of Deadly Class.

The first trailer for the SyFy series promises a twisted coming-of-age story featuring a deadly group of misfits. The trailer begins with introducing viewers to Marcus, played by Benjamin Wadsworth, as he searches for a way from the day-to-day, only to be startled by Lana Condor's Saya Kuroki, who can't help but wonder why it's taking him so long to make the jump. We then see Marcus, along with Saya, back at King’s Dominion, where Master Lin offers him a chance to join the academy and master the deadly arts.

The series is, of course, based on the critically acclaimed Image series by writer Rick Remender and artist Wes Craig, which was launched back in 2014. The comic series is set in the late 1980's at King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, a place where the world's top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained.

Deadly Class hails from producers Joe and Anthony Russo, these days perhaps best known for their work with Marvel Studios, who are huge fans of the comic. “We wanted to show our support for Deadly Class the show…we’re huge fans of the book, and we want to bring it to the screen as faithfully as possible," the duo stated in a video message played during the show's panel yesterday. They've been working closely with Remender, who will serve as co-showrunner, to ensure the authenticity of the final product -- and judging by the trailer, fans have every right to be excited.
