The hotly-anticipated Dead Space Remake finally has a release date, and it isn't that far off from the initially intended timeline.Following a live stream discussing the art of the game, the official Dead Space Twitter account posted a tweet that simply stated, "January 27, 2023." It also reveals that the rating is still pending, with a likely rating of Mature 17+.RELATED: For Dead Space's Remake to Work, It Must Improve Its Horror Tone

The Dead Space Remake was initially revealed in July 2021 during EA Play alongside a trailer. "The sci-fi survival horror classic Dead Space returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studios to offer a deeper and more immersive experience," reads the trailer description. "Harnessing the power of the Frostbite game engine and next-generation consoles, this remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity and improvements to gameplay while staying true to the original. Dead Space will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC."

Early reports suggested Dead Space Remake would launch sometime in late 2022. Industry insider Jeff Grubb stated that EA hoped to release the game during its 2023 fiscal year, though he noted that COVID-19 and normal development issues might set that date back slightly. In March 2022, Grubb adjusted that timeframe to early 2023, stating publisher Electronic Arts wanted more time to ensure Dead Space would "wow fans when it returns." This also fits in with EA's earning reports comments earlier this week, as the company stated it would have a "remake" during its fiscal Q4, which ends March 2023. They also claimed to have plans to launch a "major IP" during that quarter that could be Star Wars Jedi 2, which is rumored by Grubb to be titled Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Motive Studio, the developer of the game, recently revealed that Dead Space Remake will be a "fully unbroken experience" from start to finish. "The super-fast [Solid-State Drives] on modern systems allow us to load and unload really fast," said creative director Roman Campos-Oriola on the developer's blog post. "Our intention is to offer a fully unbroken experience, it will be an uninterrupted sequence shot, from the start screen to the end credit, without interruption."

Dead Space Remake will officially launch on January 27, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
