"The sci-fi survival horror classic Dead Space returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studios to offer a deeper and more immersive experience," reads the trailer description. "Harnessing the power of the Frostbite game engine and next generation consoles, this remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity and improvements to gameplay while staying true to the original. Dead Space will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC."

Dead Space is widely considered to be one of the best horror games of all time and has earned itself a diehard community. The first game in the series tells the story of Isaac Clarke, an engineer sent to repair a sprawling starship known as the Ishimura. What starts as a standard search-and-rescue job quickly spins out of control as Isaac is confronted by horrific monsters that have slaughtered the Ishimura's crew. Isaac needs to survive long enough to figure out what caused all the chaos and hopefully save his beloved partner Nicole, who was last seen onboard.

Rumors have swirled for weeks regarding a potential Dead Space remake. Speculation began when Jeff Grubb, a notable video game industry insider, dropped a hint that it might feature during EA Play Live 2021. Fuel was then thrown onto the fire when the official Dead Space YouTube channel updated its display picture after eight years of inactivity.

Beyond the teaser trailer confirming the remake's existence, very little is currently known about the upcoming Dead Space remake. Considering the game isn't launching for last-gen consoles, it's likely that Dead Space won't release any time soon. Electronic Arts will hopefully share more information soon. Dead Space fans have waited long enough.
