Marvel's Old Man Logan has become one of Wolverine's most iconic stories, with the titular elderly version of the Clawed Canadian moving to the main Marvel Universe following 2015's Secret Wars and the story itself influencing 2017's Logan. But all things must come to an end, and Old Man Logan is no exception. Marvel today announced a 12-part limited series ominously titled Dead Man Logan.

Helmed by writer Ed Brisson and artist Mike Henderson, the series aims to be the final chapter in the Old Man Logan saga, and, much like the Logan movie, will focus on a dying Wolverine going on one last adventure, which also ties into the original story arc by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

"This is it. This is going to be the big, final Old Man Logan story," said Brisson in an interview with Newsrama. "Logan's dying and still has a lot of unfinished business to attend to. Dead Man Logan will largely be Logan tying up loose ends -- loose ends like Mysterio, the man who, in Old Man Logan's timeline, caused him to kill all of the X-Men. That's not a box that Logan's going to leave unchecked."

In the original Old Man Logan story, Wolverine was tricked by longtime Spider-Man enemy Mysterio into killing 40 of his fellow X-Men when the Master of Illusion caused him to think he was fighting supervillains. His actions traumatized Logan so much that he abandoned his costumed alter ego and refused to pop his claws until his hand was forced. But with time running out for him, it looks as though Logan will personally deliver some long-overdue karma to Mysterio.
