The maker of Dead by Daylight will be releasing an original video game in 2023 that will provide a brand-new multiplayer experience. It may not have the same asymmetrical gameplay as Dead by Daylight, but it looks to be another amazing multiplayer game from Behaviour Interactive. By combining two unique gameplay elements, Behaviour is attempting to pit friends and players against each other in new and interesting ways. The game might best be described as the kind of game Jigsaw would make, taking inspiration from Doom and Mario Maker.

Meet Your Maker is taking the level creation found in games like Mario Maker, Halo's Forge Mode, and Little Big Planet and mixing that with a platforming first-person shooter. Every level in the game will be built by players. When a level is uploaded, everyone will be able to play them. The game allows players to take on the role of either a Builder or a Raider. Builders will use the game's level creation tools to craft an outpost, which protects genetic material. It is the Raider's job to break in, steal it, and get back out.

When building the outposts, players have an enormous amount of options in how to create their structure. From monumental towers to underground dungeons, players can construct the outpost however they like. They will be able to build individual rooms, halls, and corridors, and then fill the rooms with traps, enemies, and instant death cubes to try to destroy any Raider who attempts to steal the genetic material. The amount of customization and level design tools in the game are quite impressive, and it also features some really intelligent AI to help test the outpost.

On the flip side, Raiders are tasked with retrieving the genetic material in the outpost at all costs. Each Raider is equipped with some basic character abilities and tools like jump, double jump, and a grappling hook to better traverse the environment. They are also equipped with two weapons in their loadout, which they can customize before each outpost attack. While it may seem like the Raiders are pretty powerful, they will die after only one hit. If this happens, they have to restart the outpost from the beginning. This can also be incredibly useful because it will allow whoever is playing the Raider to learn the layout of the outpost, enemy placement, and trap locations with each run.

This is a far cry from the killer/survivor gameplay loop from Dead by Daylight, but it has the potential to redefine multiplayer games. Meet Your Maker combines two radically different gameplay types in a way that manifests a unique gaming experience. There is something here for players who like crafting and creative games as well as players who like challenging platformers and shooters. It will also appeal to gamers who enjoy both types of gameplay and allow them to jump between the two at a moment's notice. Friends will be able to put each other to the test, and likewise, they will be able to compete to see who can best conquer each other's outpost.

Behaviour seems to have something special with Meet Your Maker. Like Dead by Daylight, it looks like it will once again bring friends together for exciting and intense multiplayer gameplay. As mentioned, the game is not set to release until 2023, but there is a closed playtest for which fans can sign up. The test will officially start on August 23, 2022, so players won't have to wait too long to try this unique gameplay experience.
