The Legends are taking on Fate themselves in the season finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow's fifth season, all while owning their individual flaws.

The trailer begins with Sara Lance giving yet another inspirational monologue, stating "We've all made mistakes. But sometimes things get messed up for the better." We then see the team fly over and enter the Loom Temple of Fate, a building featuring Greek architecture, where Clotho's sisters reside. After issuing them a threat, "If it's chaos you want, it's chaos you shall have," the team faces off against what appear to be some of the Encores Astra originally released from Hell.

Messing things up for the better is often the Legends' M.O., but this time they're dealing with literal deities who previously oversaw the lifespans of humanity. Throughout the season, the team attempted to reassemble the Loom of Fate, an ancient artifact capable of warping reality and manipulating the lifespan of mortals. But now the loom is back in the Fates' hands, who transformed Earth into a 1984-inspired dystopia where humanity is subservient and ever grateful to their rule.

The previous Legends of Tomorrow episode, "The One Where We're Trapped on Television," revealed that Charlie had placed the Legends in various TV shows to help keep them alive while pacifying the masses. These include parodies of Friends, Star Trek, Downton Abbey, and the in-universe Mister Rogers knockoff, Mr. Parker's Cul-De-Sac. However the Legends, refusing to follow by the Fates' rules or TV formulas, broke free from their tube prisons and, as the new trailer show, intend to take the fight to them.

Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan and Jes Macallan.
