One of the characters joining the cast of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" season two has been revealed -- and it'll be a familiar name, if not a familiar face. The character of Vixen will be a series regular on "Legends," but it won't be Megalyn E.K. reprising the role, as revealed Tuesday by TV Insider. In fact, it'll be a different Vixen entirely.

E.K. originated the role of DC Comics hero first in animation in the CW Seed short-form series "Vixen," then later in live-action on an episode of the recent concluded fourth season of "Arrow." Due to her schedule, she's unavailable to return as the character, so while "Legends of Tomorrow" will have a Vixen, it'll be a different, earlier incarnation of the character from the Mari McCabe fans have previously encountered -- fitting with the show's time travel-heavy motif. Casting is currently ongoing for the role.

Vixen was created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner, and first appeared in 1981's "Action Comics" #521. Multiple versions of the character can easily fit into established lore, as Vixen received her powers from an ancient totem passed along in her family for generations.

TV Insider confirmed that E.K. will voice Vixen in the second season of the CW Seed animated series, and that she may return to the role in live action if her schedule allows.

"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" season two is slated to debut in the fall on The CW.
