The DC Extended Universe is currently a topic of speculation and doubt, especially after Justice League's box office disappointment. Other than Wonder Woman, no film set in the DCEU has been a critical success, leading the studio to revise its approach -- and subsequently, its movie slate -- multiple times. Taking this into account, we've rounded up every DCEU movie that's in some stage of development.

Aquaman (December 21, 2018 )

Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Aquaman is the next DCEU film in line for release by Warner Bros., marking the the superhero universe's sixth installment. Jason Momoa will reprise his role from Justice League as he battles Black Manta and the Ocean Master. Other actors set to appear in the film include Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ludi Lin.

Shazam! (April 5, 2019)

Director David F. Sandberg is currently developing the Shazam! movie, starring Zachary Levi and Asher Angel, with production beginning in February ahead of its 2019 release date. Mark Strong is set to play the villainous Doctor Sivana. Little is known about the story, other than Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, originally the movie's villain, is no longer involved.

Wonder Woman 2 (November 1, 2019)

Gal Gaod and Chris Pine in Wonder Woman

The highly-anticipated sequel to Warner Bros.' 2017 hit, Wonder Woman has been fast-tracked for a release date of November 1, 2019. Gal Gadot returns as the titular hero, as we witness her fight for justice during the Cold War. Little is known about the sequel thus far, except fan-favorite Chris Pine is said to return (somehow) as the deceased Steve Trevor.

The Batman

This film seems to be stuck in development hell. At first, Ben Affleck was set to write, direct and star, but now Matt Reeves is in charge. Not only that, doubt has cast a shadow over the chance of Affleck reprising his role from Batman v Superman and Justice League. A number of names, including Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Hamm, have been mentioned as possible alternatives o Affleck re-suiting up as the Dark Knight.

Cyborg (2020)

A standalone Cyborg movie to follow Ray Fisher's debut as the in this year's Justice League has been planned for quite some time. Yet again, not much is known about the film except for the fact that it's supposedly on track for a 2020 release, giving the studio a year or so to find a writer and director.

Suicide Squad 2

Suicide Squad 2 is one of the many movies where details remain sparse. There's a rumor that Black Adam will be introduced in this film before his own solo venture, with the team being tasked with Johnson's anti-hero down. Gavin O'Connor is set to write and direct, with filming reportedly starting in March 2018.

Deadshot

Word on the Deadshot spin-off went quiet following a report that it was being considered by Warner Bros. It's likely Will Smith would reprise the role, especially since he pleased Suicide Squad audiences.

Justice League Dark

Justice League Dark crew together

An animated movie focusing on Justice League Dark was released on Blu-ray and DVD earlier this year, ahead of the previously-announced live-action version. The movie was set to go ahead with Doug Liman at the helm, but he has since departed from the project, leaving it without a director. The movie was given the go ahead in August 2016, but there is currently no release date.

Deathstroke

Deathstroke DC Extended Universe

Not long ago, it was revealed that Joe Manganiello is set to receive his very own Deathstroke movie. This followed earlier rumors that he was poised to play the villain in The Batman. We got our first glimpse of the actor suited and booted in the post-credits scene for Justice League, where he's seen breaking Lex Luthor out of prison with the premise of the duo starting "a league of [their] own." Gareth Edwards, director of The Raid, is hard at work getting this feature ready for the big screen.

Green Lantern Corps (2020)

Replacements-Green-Lantern-Corps

Written by David S. Goyer and Justin Rhodes, the Green Lantern Corps movie is rumored to feature an older Hal Jordan who mentors John Stewart. Rupert Wyatt is attached to direct the movie, described as "Lethal Weapon in space," ahead of its announced 2020 release.

Flashpoint

Flashpoint is the Ezra Miller-starring Flash solo film, but it's currently being overshadowed by the rumor of it being Affleck's last outing as Batman. The Flashpoint comic is a huge ensemble story involving differnet universe versions of many, many characters, and indications hint the movie will follow suit. There's no current release date set for the movie, which has gone through multiple directors over the last couple of years.

Batgirl

A rumor that Joss Whedon is no longer attached to Batgirl was quickly debunked by Warner Bros. The movie will reportedly feature the New 52 version of Barbara Gordon, drawing inspiration from Gail Simone's run on the character where she regains the use of her legs. There's no current release date for Batgirl, but it's said to be among the next few movies to enter production.

Nightwing

Nightwing

Chris McKay will direct a Nightwing movie, though the search for Dick Grayson has yet to officially begin. The movie is likely to commence pre-production in 2018, but it doesn't yet have a release date to aim for. McKay has stressed the importance to "get the script right" so the film can "blow your mind," so fans may need to remain patient.

Harley Quinn

The latest movie revealed to be moving forward is a solo Harley Quinn. The flick, starring Margot Robbie, has been in development for two years. Like a lot of the other planned DCEU movies, there are no details, but the concept of Harley being let loose in an adventure of her own is sure to excite fans. Robbie's take on the character has been one of the breakout comic book roles in recent years.

Joker & Harley Quinn

Based on perhaps the most famous-yet-toxic relationships in comics, a Joker and Harley Quinn movie is on the way from writers and directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. The story is said to be tonally similar to Natural Born Killers, and is set to begin filming after the Suicide Squad sequel.

Gotham City Sirens

Gotham City Sirens is set to star Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, alongside Poison Ivy and Catwoman, who are yet to be cast. David Ayer, director of Suicide Squad, is attached to the film, The movie is said to be inspired by the DC Comics title of the same name from Paul Dini and Guillem March. There's no release date just yet.

Joker

This movie was actually as being set outside of the DC Extended Universe. However, Warner Bros. has been changing plans so much, there's always a chance it ultimately ends up under the DCEU umbrella. Todd Phillips has written a script for the film with Scott Silver, who is also set to direct. Warner Bros. is hoping to grab Martin Scorsese as a producer of the movie, described as a hard-boiled crime story set in 1980s Gotham.

Booster Gold

Another movie that rumored to take place outside the DCEU - which, of course, is no certainty at this point - is Booster Gold. There has been no new information on the film for over a year now, but there's nothing that suggests it isn't still in the works, either. The film is being developed by Greg Berlanti from a script by Zack Stentz.

Black Adam

Black Adam

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was cast in the role of Black Adam back in 2014, but he has yet to actually appear in the DCEU. The character was initially set to be the main antagonist in the Shazam! movie, but he's since been given his own flick. Not only that, he's rumored to debut in Suicide Squad 2 ahead of his solo film, presumably to introduce Black Adam to a mainstream audience before he ventures out on his own.

Man of Steel 2

A sequel to the movie that started it all, Man of Steel 2 has been on everybody's tongue for quite some time now. The film doesn't have a script, only "various story ideas," according to producer Charles Roven. It's possible Matthew Vaughn will direct, as he's been in talks with Warner Bros. for a few months now. There are no release date or story details as of now.
