The DC Extended Universe is currently a topic of speculation and doubt, especially after Justice League's box office disappointment. Other than Wonder Woman, no film set in the DCEU has been a critical success, leading the studio to revise its approach -- and subsequently, its movie slate -- multiple times. Taking this into account, we've rounded up every DCEU movie that's in some stage of development.
Aquaman (December 21, 2018 )
Aquaman is the next DCEU film in line for release by Warner Bros., marking the the superhero universe's sixth installment. Jason Momoa will reprise his role from Justice League as he battles Black Manta and the Ocean Master. Other actors set to appear in the film include Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ludi Lin.
Shazam! (April 5, 2019)
Director David F. Sandberg is currently developing the Shazam! movie, starring Zachary Levi and Asher Angel, with production beginning in February ahead of its 2019 release date. Mark Strong is set to play the villainous Doctor Sivana. Little is known about the story, other than Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, originally the movie's villain, is no longer involved.
Wonder Woman 2 (November 1, 2019)
The highly-anticipated sequel to Warner Bros.' 2017 hit, Wonder Woman has been fast-tracked for a release date of November 1, 2019. Gal Gadot returns as the titular hero, as we witness her fight for justice during the Cold War. Little is known about the sequel thus far, except fan-favorite Chris Pine is said to return (somehow) as the deceased Steve Trevor.
This film seems to be stuck in development hell. At first, Ben Affleck was set to write, direct and star, but now Matt Reeves is in charge. Not only that, doubt has cast a shadow over the chance of Affleck reprising his role from Batman v Superman and Justice League. A number of names, including Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Hamm, have been mentioned as possible alternatives o Affleck re-suiting up as the Dark Knight.
