DC fans are voicing their thoughts on the review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes after the latest DC Extended Universe film Black Adam debuted with a negative score on the Tomatometer.

At the time of writing, Black Adam holds an approval rating of 54 percent from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with 74 reviews having been counted thus far. This has angered some DC fans online, with many debating the value of the film's Rotten Tomatoes score and arguing that the Audience Score is what truly matters when determining if a film is worth seeing in theaters. Black Adam's Rotten Tomatoes score is one of the lowest in the DCEU, with only three films scoring worse -- Justice League (39 percent), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (29 percent) and Suicide Squad (26 percent).

Warner Bros. and DC have a lot riding on Black Adam being another successful entry in the growing DCEU. Dwayne Johnson has repeatedly referred to the film as a new era for the DC Universe, with the blockbuster installment set to introduce audiences to several new characters like the Justice Society of America. The actor has also hinted heavily that Black Adam will include Henry Cavill's long-awaited return to the DCEU as Superman, although his involvement in the film has not been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery at this time.

Johnson has also revealed plans for Black Adam to eventually crossover with the Shazam! franchise, allowing fans to see Black Adam duking it out with Zachary Levi's Shazam. "[Black Adam vs. Shazam! is] gonna happen," the actor confirmed in a recent interview. Johnson has also expressed his interest in developing a Black Adam vs. Superman movie, going so far as to state that "the whole point of [Black Adam]" was to set up a future conflict with the Man of Steel.
