DC's DCeased pitted hero against hero after the techno-virus form of the anti-life equation transformed millions of people on Earth into zombie-like creatures within a matter of minutes. It was up to Batman, Wonder Woman and other surviving heroes to put an end to the crisis, but unfortunately, as with most zombie apocalypses, it ended in tragedy rather than triumph.
Though the series may be over, the story does not end there. Readers will soon return to Tom Taylor's dystopian world in DCeased: Unkillables, a three-issue series exploring how the villains reacted to the zombie-infested planet while the heroes were trying to save it. Each issue will be 48-pages in length, with artwork by Karl Mostert and Trevor Scott.
Taylor has been teasing the sequel story on social media, posting quotes and partial images of cover art with the hashtag #Unkillables. The main and variant covers have finally been revealed in their entirety and details are now available. The official synopsis reads:
"The blockbuster DC series returns to answer this question: What did the villains do when the heroes failed and the world ended?
Spinning out of the dramatic events of 2019’s smash hit, writer Tom Taylor returns to this dark world with a street-level tale of death, heroism and redemption. Led by Red Hood and Deathstroke, DC’s hardest villains and antiheroes fight with no mercy to save the only commodity left on a dying planet of the undead—life!"
The upcoming limited series release from February to April 2020.
