This article contains spoilers for DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #3, on sale now from DC Comics.

It's safe to say DCeased: War of the Undead Gods is certainly pushing the heroes in this alternate reality to their limits. After all, Darkseid's rampaging across the cosmos with a Yellow Lantern ring and a rabid army of Blighted Ones following him. Even with the cure, the Justice League and their allies on Earth-2 can tell it's still going to be a brutal war -- something Brainiac warned them of in his broken state.

To make it worse, Darkseid has Supergirl as his lackey, which foreshadows a scary fight to come with Superman and his son Jon. Fans are wondering if the Supermen would be able to deal with a Kryptonian in such a violent state. However, thanks to issue #3 (by Tom Taylor, Trevor Hairsine, Andy Lanning, Rain Beredo & Saida Temofonte), there could be hope in the form of Lobo and the possibility he might become DC's best and most powerful Lantern ever.

Lobo charging into battle in DCeased

In the Blackest Night event, Nekron's army of Black Lanterns summoned the dead to take over the realm. Luckily, the White Lanterns and Life Entity helped dispel this, harnessing the full power of the emotional spectrum. The likes of Kyle Rayner and Superman were among those spreading light through the galaxy after being imbued with the energy of Life, stemming the poison from the Book of the Black that Nekron and William Hand unleashed.

In DCeased, there's a similar book Ares reveals to the heroes, confirming its history as that of Erebos, the Greek god of chaos. More so, Erebos is associated with darkness, so seeing as other colored Lanterns exist, it stands to reason that there may be a White Lantern battery out there. If it's seeking a harbinger of the Light, Lobo would be ideal, with this chapter already teasing how much he embodies life and that unwavering spirit to not die.

DCeased's Lobo is Perfect for the Life Entity

DCeased's Lobo can become a White Lantern

A Thanagarian soldier tries to cut Lobo, but he staves the infection off in comedic fashion; no surprise given his healing factor surpasses the likes of Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine in a lot of stories. He can even take hits Superman or gods can't, regenerating from a limb or even a drop of blood. Nothing says life like that, but apart from the physical resilience, a lot comes down to Lobo's mindset.

His mentality is strong, he's never in doubt facing any opponent, and he somehow keeps finding ways to survive. That's the fighting spirit that's needed for a White Lantern at present, with such a powerful mind and overall energy possible being the widespread cure for the entire galaxy. Sure, Lobo's crude, profane and an acquired taste, but as much as he's a wildcard, he's unstoppable. And make no mistake, no one enjoys life as much as he does, whether it's chasing bounties, women or drinks. Simply put, Lobo is the perfect foil for the darkness at hand. Giving him the ultimate power in this universe is risky. Lobo has always been cocky and aggressive and and becoming the White Lantern would highlight these personality traits. But the possibility makes sense because no one would want to destroy the oncoming swath of death more than him.
