Marvel's Sinister Six supervillain team has taken on many forms over the years, but it began as a cabal of bad guys with one singular goal — to destroy the Amazing Spider-Man. They failed, but that didn't stop the name from sticking, or the team from growing. Doctor Octopus led the original Six, who were comprised of Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman, and the Vulture.
However, what if one, or several of these villains weren't around to fill the void? Even more, what if the barriers between Marvel and DC dimensions came down, and the Six were able to recruit from the other side? These are ten DC Comics villains who would love a chance to join the ranks of the Sinister Six, for different reasons.
10 The Joker Would Be A Useful Loose Cannon Within The Sinister Six
The Clown Prince of Crime has shown that he's capable of working with others, even if his unpredictable behavior frequently puts them in harm's way. The idea of working with a collegiate of supervillains like the Sinister Six would be an attractive prospect, giving him an outlet to court chaos.
It's highly probable that the Joker would end up becoming a liability within the Six, at least if he wasn't handled properly. Of all the villains on this list, he'd probably be the one to splinter off from the team, putting the mission at risk. However, he'd be a valuable asset if he were on his game.
9 Bane Would Be A Huge Asset To The Six By Providing Rhino-Like Strength
The Sinister Six is no stranger to employing heavies, and Bane would be a major asset in the team's quest to take down Spider-Man. Bane's physical strength is overwhelming, even without the aid of his Venom drug cocktail. Amped up, he'd essentially act as a stand-in for the Rhino, with equal crushing power.
It probably wouldn't take long for Spidey, or another superhero to capitalize on Bane's weakness to the drug. However, they'd still have to contend with his keen mind, in-depth training, and cunning. Bane would be a wrecking ball within the Six.
8 Deathstroke Would Join The Sinister Six Under Contract
Deathstroke's presence in the Sinister Six would most likely be under contract. It's doubtful he'd have a bone to pick with the Marvel superhero roster, unless one had already crossed him. As such, Deathstroke would act as hired muscle, with a specialization in tracking and combat.
This particular villain has been shown going toe-to-toe with some of the best DC heroes in the roster, which means he'd have the experience to cross between dimensions and aid the Six. Plus, his affinity for working with others would make him less of a liability than others on this list.
7 Reverse-Flash Would Join The Six In Exchange For Their Help Against The Flash
The Reverse-Flash is a man obsessed with getting revenge on his nemesis, the Flash, and his presence in the Sinister Six would probably be dependent upon some sort of quid pro quo promise to assist him in his own schemes. If he scratched their back, the Six might scratch his, and utilize their combined efforts to take down the Flash.
In terms of powers, Reverse-Flash would be a deadly opponent. His speed is beyond measure, and his combat abilities are absolutely punishing. He'd be a major linchpin within the Sinister Six, and his abilities would probably give the team other ideas to expand on their own criminal interests.
6 Scarecrow Would Truly Be Sinister By Using His Fear Toxins To Overwhelm Enemies
A fascination with fear would end up giving the Sinister Six a rather large edge in a battle against Spider-Man, or another Marvel hero. Most are probably not prepared for the Scarecrow's fear toxin, not to mention other tricks he uses to prey upon people's phobias.
In battle, the Scarecrow could quickly tip the odds in favor of the Six by paralyzing their target, or causing them to hallucinate. In an already agitated state, the victim would probably become overwhelmed by the distorted images of the Sinister Six who are all vying for a takedown. The experience would be catastrophic.
5 Poison Ivy Would Bring A Biological Element To The Sinister Six
The Sinister Six would benefit from the inclusion of Poison Ivy into their ranks, particularly if she were able to use her seductive prowess and infiltration abilities to their advantage. She'd be able to operate into clandestine fashion, perhaps pretending to be a hero in order to lure her target out into the open.
From there, Ivy's powers would go to work, aiding the Sinister Six. Her control over plant-life via "the Green," even at the molecular level would be a huge benefit in a fight, adding a biological element to the fight that most superheroes would probably be unprepared for.
4 Damien Darkh Has Access To Technology And Criminal Connections That The Six Could Use
Damien Darkh would be an especially potent member of the Sinister Six, not just for his supervillain qualities, but also his link to H.I.V.E., and the ultra-high-tech equipment stored therein. If Darkh managed to acquire these technologies and gift them to the rest of the Six, the results could be disastrous.
On his own, Darkh is well-connected, and that spells trouble for his quarry. The Six could employ Darkh's connections to flush out targets, giving them nowhere to run. The Sinister Six wouldn't just be interested in Darkh's abilities, but his deep roots with other criminal organizations across the multiverse.
3 Black Mask Would Love The Chance To Bring His Cruel Sadism To The Team
The Black Mask is a major foe of Batman, and several other DC superheroes, and he's not to be trifled with. This particular loose cannon knows how to operate within groups, and as a member of the Sinister Six, his rage and unbridled aggression would prove quite useful.
His major strength might lie in his criminal connections, and his overabundance of torture tactics, but he's also a capable fighter. He's shown to hold his own against expert fighters like Batman, and he's also a skilled marksman. Both of these traits could be employed to take down a Six target.
2 Mister Freeze Would Join The Six In Exchange For Doctor Octopus' Help
The Sinister Six are well-connected, and many of them, particularly Doctor Octopus, have scientific knowledge at their disposal. This might prove to be an attractive prospect for Mister Freeze, especially in light of his pursuit to cure his terminally ill wife of her condition.
It's possible that Doc Ock would create some sort of deal with Freeze, in exchange for him joining the Sinister Six. It's a concept Freeze would have no quibble with. Whether Ock kept his promise at the end, however, is another matter entirely.
1 Killer Croc Would Be Powerful Muscle That Could Tip The Scales In Favor Of The Six
Killer Croc has known crime all his life, and he's also worked within groups, most notably the Suicide Squad. As such, he knows how to play the game from multiple angles. As a Sinister Six heavy, he'd definitely give the team a major advantage when it came to hunting targets.
Croc's strength is frightening, his skin is almost impenetrable, and he possesses senses that mimic his evolutionary reptilian ancestors. As such, he's a tracker, an enforcer, and a fighter all rolled into one. Combined with the rest of the Six, the combination would prove too much for most to bear.
