Venom has caused havoc in the Marvel Universe for many years, but he's never been unleashed upon the DC Universe before. While there's plenty of villains and heroes that have taken on the symbiote in the past, no DC villain has been a host.

There's a number of villains that would be excellent characters to bond with the symbiote. Whether it's their bloodlust, their craving for power, or perhaps even their abilities or physical designs, here are 10 DC villains that would be great contenders to be the host of a symbiote like Venom.

10 The Joker

The clown prince of crime is an erratic force of nature already. He'd be even more dangerous if he was bonded with Venom. There have been various plots in the past to physically change Joker.

Whether it was in the Arkham games or in the comics, Joker is often not a physical threat. But with the combination of the symbiote and his wild mind, the two could be unstoppable.

9 Deathstroke

What would happen if a deadly assassin bonded with Venom? Well asides from the black and orange suit demonstrating the duality of the character, it would make him an even stronger hit-man.

Deathstroke has the mental capabilities to keep the symbiote at bay. It would be a valuable ally on the battlefield therefore and would make him a viable threat to metahumans and supers alike.

8 Gorilla Grodd

The vicious, world-conquering gorilla could have a great ally on his side if his own brawn and mental capabilities were matched with that of Venom.

The two together would be a mighty force to be reckoned with. Both are extremely physical presences but the brutality of the character would be heightened by Venom's own need to consume human life.

7 Lex Luthor

The Venom symbiote often isn't very intelligent. In fact, he relies largely on the IQ of the human that he is paired with. For Lex Luther, he doesn't have the physical attributes to be able to fully stand toe to toe with the man of steel.

This is a compelling alliance for both, therefore. Lex would be able to get his own physical revenge with the help of the symbiote, who in return is giving the brainpower he requires for his larger goals.

6 Sinestro

Sinestro operates on fear, gaining his power from scaring those that he attacks with his yellow ring. The corps in general would largely benefit from the incorporation of a symbiote.

Venom also thrives on fear, with the flight or fight response making his prey more fun to hunt and kill. The two together would be quite interesting, although they might both be very headstrong, leading to conflict.

5 Darkseid

Darkseid is one of the most powerful forces in all of DC. Even Marvel heroes would despise him for he is every bit a world-destroyer as Venom wishes to be.

Asides from his legions of warriors and his immense power, Darkseid has a real desire to destroy anyone in his path. He would absolutely use the symbiote to his advantage and would very much stay in control.

4 Ocean Master

The Ocean Master's aquatic powers would be a completely unique mashup with the symbiote's own abilities. While Venom might not do so well with fire usually, he could thrive with water.

The Ocean Master needs something extra to dethrone the king of Atlantis. With Venom's own hunger to be a ruler it would make sense that the two could see a common goal.

3 Ra's Al Ghul

The leader of the League of Assassins is a powerful man. He's incredible in terms of his hand to hand combat and swordsmanship, but he's also a very inspirational leader.

His ability of resurrection is one that Venom would find especially appealing, and he'd also like the idea of having an army of assassins to follow his lead. The two could work on their own version of Earth for many years.

2 Reverse-Flash

One of the fastest beings in the universe operates on a sort of dark energy that the Flash can't really tap into. The assumption would be that Venom would thrive on this.

Super speed and loud sound can be weaknesses for the symbiote, but bonding with a speedster may make him immune to these terrible Achilles heels. This would only raise Venom's stock in the villain world.

1 Black Mask

Black Mask could really have a new meaning if the crime boss decided to bond with the crazed symbiote. The visuals alone would be incredible, with the Mask becoming a part of the symbiote.

The powers of Black Mask would also increase and he wouldn't simply be a gun-wielding hit-man anymore. The two could run his crime empire through fear alone, and they would really benefit from one another's company. Black Mask could quickly jump to being one of Batman's most fierce adversaries.
