DC Universe's Titans Assemble in New Team Photo

While it was announced a long time ago, the release of the DC Universe online streaming service is almost upon us. The service will finally launch tomorrow, on Saturday September 15 -- the day that DC has declared to be the official Batman Day. After this launch, DC Universe will be home to four live-action series, the first of which will be Titans, which is set to premiere in less than a month.

The series has been filming for a long time. Unofficial set pictures inevitably surfaced, giving fans an unpolished look at the superhero characters from the series. Then, during Comic-Con International in San Diego, DC finally revealed the first official look at the series with the release of its first trailer -- a trailer that teased the dark, violent, edgy and profanity-filled tone of Titans. After this came some official key art... but here's the thing: we still hadn't seen the team officially united -- until now.

Entertainment Weekly has finally revealed an exclusive image from the series which features Robin (Brenton Thwaites), Starfire (Anna Diop), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) and Raven (Teagan Croft) all assembled against a common threat. As of now, Dick Grayson's Robin is the only character we have seen in an official superhero costume. Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy appear to be in their common street clothes, but all of that could change as the series progresses.

In the EW article, it's revealed that the series will be "a bit of a slow burn, which means the Titans aren’t “the Titans” by the end of the premiere." However, as the characters find each other, and after they assemble under the leadership of Robin, a tried and true superhero, he could inspire them to put on costumes of their own.

Also a part of the series are DC's Hawk and Dove (played by Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly, respectively) who have previously been seen in superhero costumes as well. Therefore, once these six Titans finally unite, we should be looking forward to a costumed superhero team to rival the comics themselves. It might just take a bit of time to get there.
