DC Universe, Warner Bros.' new streaming service, has officially added another actor to the cast of Stargirl -- though who, exactly, they're playing remains a mystery.
Anjelika Washington (Runaways, Shameless) has been cast in an unnamed role. While we don't yet know what hero or villain she will portray, series creator and producer Geoff Johns promises "it'll be one familiar to DC Comics fans."

According to the series' official description, Stargirl will inspire "an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.
While that's somewhat vague, it does offer a few clues as to which character Washington will portray, considering the Johns-era JSA included several young members. In addition to Stargirl, the team included Maxine Hunkel, aka Cyclone, the wind-controlling granddaughter of World War II-era hero Red Tornado; and Jakeem Thunder, the latest in a line of heroes to partner with the magical Thunderbolt entity. It would make sense for Washington to bring either one of these characters to life for the new series as part of the show's goal of reinventing the JSA concept.
Stargirl joins the DC Universe line-up of Titans, Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing live-action dramas. Other original content already announced includes an animated adult-aimed Harley Quinn series and Young Justice: Outsiders, a continuation of the fan-favorite Young Justice cartoon.
