DC Universe's Stargirl series has rounded out its cast with Amy Smart, Neil Jackson, Hunter Sansone and Trae Romano.

Smart will play Barbara Whitmore, Courtney's mother. According to her character description, Barbara will be "jumping back into the workforce and striving to be the best mother and provider she can be to her daughter, her new husband (Luke Wilson) and her new stepson" when the series picks up. Smart's previous credits include MacGyver, Point Break, Justified, Starsky & Hutch, Starship Troopers and more.

Romano, on the other hand, will play Mike Dugan, "Pat’s overly-charming teenage son and Courtney’s new stepbrother." In the comics, Mike was left in his father's care when his mother abandoned them. Because his father Pat Dugan was once a superhero called Stripesy, Mike has occasionally been the victim of super-villain plots.

Jackson and Sansone's characters have not yet been revealed, but they will play as-yet undisclosed DC characters. Now filming Kingsman: The Great Game, Jackson has also appeared in Quantum of Solace, Push, Welcome to Marwen and Westworld Season 2.

The series will follow "high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series."

Arriving in 2019, DC Universe's Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl), Joel McHale as Sylvester Pemberton (Starman), Brian Stapf as Ted Grant (Wildcat), Lou Ferringo Jr. as Rex Tyler (Hourman) and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, with Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal and Christopher James Baker as undisclosed DC characters.
