When "DC Universe: Rebirth" arrives in May, it will bring changes that will ripple throughout the DCU, some of which fans are already aware of, and others that remain a mystery for the time being.

Now, Ethan Van Sciver, one of the artists involved with the oversized one-shot, has released an early look at his contribution to the comic. Over the weekend, Van Sciver tweeted out a pair of his inked pages from the DC Comics event, and while they're only in black and white, the first page's emphasis on storm clouds gathering across the planet does have a "red skies/Crisis" sort of vibe to it.

"DC Universe: Rebirth," by Geoff Johns, Ethan Van Sciver, Ivan Reis, Gary Frank, Phil Jimenez and more, arrives in stores Wednesday, May 25.

It all begins here. Do not skip to the last page. Do not let a friend or message board ruin this comic for you. The future (and past) of the DC Universe starts here. Don't say we didn't warn you!

THEY SAID IT: "Rebirth is about focusing in on the core of the character and their respective universe," says writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. "It brings back what has been lost: the legacy of the characters, the love and the hope of the DCU!"

Retailers: THIS TITLE WILL NOT BE LISTED ON FOC. ALL ORDERS MUST BE FINALIZED BY APRIL 28.
