The DC Universe is full of magical and wondrous locations. Outside of the main cities like Gotham, Metropolis, and Star City, there's also a number of locations that are really pivotal for the overall plot of that comic book world.

While each of the locations can be associated with a specific hero or group, each one is crucial for the wider DC Universe. Whether it's a character HQ, or perhaps the area of origin for a group of heroes, there are many important locations to choose from, but only a few that really have become part of the very DC DNA.

10 The Hall Of Justice

The Justice League is the premier team of the DC Universe, so their HQ, the Hall of Justice, is one of the most important locations that any hero can step foot in.

Not only does it celebrate the JLA's victories and accomplishments, but it's also a heavily fortified facility that has held meetings and protected the team from imminent danger.

9 Atlantis

Atlantis

Atlantis has always been an important location thanks to its King Aquaman. The character is a vital one for the Justice League and the DC Universe, with Atlantis serving as one of its few mythical locations.

The underwater kingdom has a long history and is responsible for maintaining peace below the depths of the oceans. Many adventures have been had inside the waterlogged walls of the city.

8 Themyscira

Themyscira

Themyscira has been an important part of Wonder Woman's story and has been an area of defense against the forces of evil that seek to try to destroy the Earth and its heroes.

The city has been home to the Amazonian warriors for quite some time and is representative of the Greek mythology that has defined many aspects of the DC Universe, including Diana Prince herself.

7 Mars

Mars may seem like a strange choice, but it has contributed to the history of the Martian Manhunter and has become a point of interest throughout DC history.

One of the closest planets to Earth, it's been pivotal due to the involvement with J'onn J'onzz, but has also housed a number of other battles and skirmishes linked to his history.

6 Legion Of Doom HQ

The Legion of Doom has their own, slightly oddly shaped headquarters which is perhaps even more gimmicky than the HQ that the Justice League inhabit during their meetings.

It's a great place for all of these villains to come together, and it features shark-infested waters, an amazing weapons system, and a pretty iconic—if not a big goofy—look that clearly shows how evil the location is.

5 STAR Labs

STAR labs is an important scientific location in DC which has made a number of breakthroughs which has aided heroes in their missions when they have needed it the most.

It's usually linked to the world's fastest man, especially because of its portrayal in the Arrowverse, but the STAR Labs has been instrumental in the careers of more heroes than just the Flash.

4 The Bat Cave

Every hero has an HQ of their own to go back to. While the Arrow bunker might be a potential rival in recent years and the Fortress of Solitude is always an important location, the Bat Cave is probably the ultimate base for the dark knight.

With all of the armor suits, technology, and vehicles available, not to mention the mementos from past battles and its very own Alfred, there's plenty to love about the Bat Cave!

3 Krypton

Superman and Supergirl are the primary heroes for this location, but Krypton and its inhabitants have always been a key part of the history of the whole multiverse, as humans come to terms with the aliens from the planet.

The location even inspired a whole TV show about it, and its own legacy has been explored deeply throughout the comics. The Kryptonians have inspired so many people across the world.

2 Arkham Asylum

The famous asylum known as Arkham has housed some of Batman's deadliest foes over the years. It has expanded recently to also include other villains from across DC.

There's been plenty of huge stories told within the fortified walls of the prison, not to mention teams like the Suicide Squad are heavily linked to Arkham. With even a video game based on the prison, it's probably one of the most well known places in all of Gotham.

1 Speed Force

The Speed Force is strangely portrayed as a location, almost as if it's another dimension. Speedsters have traveled through it and even into it for periods of time, although staying too long can send someone mad.

The Speed Force is a powerful location and actually contributes to the heroes and some villains who siphon the energy from this unidentified, almost sentient being. Whether it's in the comics or on the small screen, the Speed Force is a location that cannot be ignored; the fate of the DC Universe depends on it.
