The upcoming fourth season HBO Max's DC series Titans will run for a dozen episodes, director Boris Mojsovski has confirmed.

Mojsovski shared a number of behind-the-scenes photos in a post to Instagram. "Prep starts on Titans S4 with my dear friends [David Greene] as the DP and [Tom Pabst] as the writer/producer," he wrote. "Scouting locations is all the fun." In response to a comment asking how many episodes the season would have, the director simply wrote, "12."

While Titans' fourth season will be its first to feature exactly 12 episodes, this number does track with previous seasons. Titans Season 1 ran for 11 episodes, while Seasons 2 and 3 ran for 13 episodes each. For Season 4, it seems HBO Max simply decided to split the difference this time around.

Based on DC's Teen Titans comic books, Titans initially premiered on the now-defunct DC Universe streaming service on Oct. 12, 2018, with Season 1 running through Dec. 21, 2018. The show returned for a second season on DC Universe, which ran from Sept. 6, 2019 to Nov. 29, 2019. Titans then jumped ship to HBO Max, with Season 3 running from Aug. 12, 2021 to Oct. 21, 2021. Ahead of the Season 3 finale, HBO Max renewed Titans for a fourth season. It was just a few days ago on Feb. 28 that series writer Richard Hatem confirmed production on Season 4 was officially underway.

Titans Season 3 starred Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Anna Diop as Koriand'r/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth/Raven, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan/Beast Boy, Curran Walters as Jason Todd/Red Hood, Conor Leslie as Donna Troy/Wonder Girl, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall/Hawk, Joshua Orpin as Conner/Superboy, Savannah Welch as Barbara Gordon, Damaris Lewis as Komand'r/Blackfire and Vincent Kartheiser as Dr. Jonathan Crane (aka Scarecrow).

Season 4 is slated to feature a number of newcomers, with Joseph Morgan, Franka Potente and Lisa Ambalavanar being cast in the roles of Brother Blood, Mother Mayhem and Jinx, respectively. In other words, the Titans will have plenty of new villains to fight when their show returns with new episodes. That being said, the upcoming season still lacks an official premiere date (and considering the fact that production just started, it's probably too early to speculate).
