Doctor Strange might not be able to brutally overpower his adversaries but his mystical noise is enough. He is one of the most powerful Marvel superheroes, who can cast a spell so deadly that even a celestial being might not be able to escape from the clutches.

The Sorcerer Supreme will find loads of challengers worthy of a fight in the DC Universe, but he will also find the Gods and the celestial beings who'll be considered favorites against him. The ability to handle magic is a must if any DC supervillain wants to get the better of Stephen Strange.

10 Trigon

trigon

Trigon is an underrated supervillain due to his daughter, Raven, who undermines him at every given opportunity. He has existed for centuries and taking over worlds is all he knows. Be it magic or strength, Trigon has it all.

On top of that, he is nigh-invulnerable, which means Doctor Strange will have to get very cheeky if wants to even trouble the DC supervillain. Trigon is a supervillain the Avengers together might be able to handle, but Stephen alone is too much to ask.

9 General Zod

General Zod in Action Comics #981

One of Superman's biggest arch-nemeses, General Zod is as strong as the Man of Steel— meaning he can easily manhandle Doctor Strange. Despite magic being one of his weaknesses, it isn't as big as his allergy to Kryptonite.

The Sorcerer Supreme cannot beat Zod on his own and he'll require tougher superheroes to back him, in case Stephen is able to quiet him down using some spells. The Marvel superhero will definitely give him a fight, though.

8 Black Adam

Black Adam Sits On His Ancient Throne And Fights Shazam

Black Adam is someone who can not only match Doctor Strange in terms of magic but he can also manhandle him when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Doctor Strange will have to bring about some dark magic in order to gain an upper hand in this one, but even Stephen isn't that desperate.

If Doctor Strange gains some strength, he would be able to give Black Adam a run for his money. But unfortunately, it just doesn't happen that way.

7 Brainiac

Brainiac From DC Comics

Brainiac is one of the most— if not the most— intelligent beings in the DC Universe. He has existed for a very long while and he specializes in taking over the worlds he likes.

No barrier has even been put over the kind of powers Brainiac possesses, with one suggestion being he has never himself fought Superman— instead, he has always sent his clones. How can Doctor Strange plan against something like that, let alone beat him? Even The Avengers as a whole would struggle with this one.

6 Doomsday

Doomsday from DC Comics holding an unconscious Superman

Doomsday is a very well-known DC supervillain, thanks to handing Superman what is arguably the Man of Steel's most iconic death of all time and doing so almost entirely through sheer brute strength alone.

Made of part Kryptonite, Doomsday's strength knows no bounds and on several occasions, he has stunned the Justice League as well as Superman. Doctor Strange may be able to keep him at bay using some of his mystical know-how but there's no way he would be able to compete once Doomsday lets loose.

5 Ares

DC Comics

As the God of War, Ares grows in strength wherever humans engage in battle and since the beginning of time, he has been looking for ways to increase his power. Wonder Woman was barely able to defeat him because Amazonians were meant to keep him in check.

Someone like Stephen Strange is only going to struggle from the get-go. The Sorcerer Supreme will be easily defeated by Ares and he may be severely mocked for his inability to do anything.

4 Sinestro

Sinestro raises his arm to strike in DC Comics

Green Lantern's arch-enemy, Sinestro, has the Power Ring with him, which grants him any superpower he is willingly able to execute. Moreover, this DC supervillain understands fear unlike any and has a whole army to back him.

Doctor Strange would not only need his own army to keep Sinestro's goons at bay but he'll struggle to have any sustained periods of offence, owing to the sheer difference in their respective powers.

3 Parallax

Parallax DC Comics

Although Parallax requires a mortal host to wreak havoc, no one can deny this creature's ability to instill fear. In fact, this DC supervillain is termed as fear incarnate.

Again, the range of his superpowers have never been described but Hal Jordan can give the fans a vivid description of the kind of damage Parallax can cause. It would be wise for Doctor Strange to not approach Parallax at all. He should simply run away at the sight of him.

2 Darkseid

An image of Darkseid.

Darkseid has roamed the universe looking for the dreaded Anti-Life Equation. He never likes to get his hands dirty but whenever he has come up against the Justice League, he has never failed to disappoint.

Be it Omega Beams or Life Draining Power, Darkseid has some deadly superpowers at his disposal. Furthermore, he is the New God boasting nigh-invulnerability. All of that combined puts Doctor Strange's chances of beating this iconic DC supervillain close to zero percent.

1 Anti-Monitor

Mobius Anti-Monitor from Darkseid War

Anti-Monitor is arguably the most powerful DC supervillain of all time. He came into existence with the introduction of the multiverse and while he was tasked to look after the Antimatter Universe, he engulfed tons of energy making himself stronger, in the process.

Anti-Monitor is made out of pure unadulterated energy and the stuff he can do is otherworldly. He can play with Doctor Strange like a toy. The Sorcerer Supreme would need more than just magic to get out of this one alive.
