LEGO Minifigures have been something with an appeal to fans of all ages. LEGO Batman has drawn younger fans to the DC Comics character, extending his visibility even more than thought possible. With over eighty years of history, DC Comics gives LEGO so many characters to add to their roster of Minifigures.

DC Super-Heroes in LEGO have a wonderful sense of fun that's missing too often from adaptations in other media, even the comics. A lot of this comes from LEGO Batman. With LEGO-based video games, fans even got previews of heroes that have yet to be immortalized in plastic.

10 Ambush Bug: He Fits In With The Lighter Mood of DC LEGO

LEGO Ambush Bug and New 52

Ambush Bug is one of those characters that are almost too silly for comics. He's also one of those characters that can make for insanely fun play for young builders. His mini-figure is ripe for customization, switching his head and hands with other Minifigure bodies.

Another wave of Minifigure pouches could see an Ambush Bug incorporated very easily. His stuffed sidekick Cheeks, the Toy Wonder, would be a perfect accessory. It would also be neat to see original creations slipping Ambush Bug into little cameos, even outside of DC-inspired builds.

9 Brainiac 5: The Time Has Come To Expand The Legion of Superheroes Roster

Brainiac 5 from the cover of Legion of Super-Heroes #0

So far, the Legion of Super-Heroes has had a minimal representation in the world of LEGO. While there are Minifigures for the founders from their Retroboot days, one of the most visible Legionnaires, Brainiac 5, has not seen incorporation, even in the video games.

Brainiac 5's ancestor, the original Brainiac has seen representation twice, once in a mini-legs format with Supergirl, often paired in the comics with Brainiac 5.  His current incarnation has a wonderful design, but a classic version would probably be received well. As for accessories, a force shield bubble seems like a logical addition.

8 Shining Knight: Preferably With His Flying Horse

Shining Knight from Stars and STRIPE

A knight is an easy lift for LEGO, being a theme that has been visited in various sets in the past. There may not need to be many new sculpts for a Shining Knight Minifigure. The compulsion is strong to pair him with his flying horse, Winged Victory.

Winged Horses have been done before, most recently in the Harry Potter set for Beauxbatons’ Carriage. Having a little-known character like the Shining Knight be a miniature set on his own could be a hard lift for LEGO. Perhaps the solution would be for a larger DC Super-Heroes set incorporating a time travel theme.

7 Starman: Any of Them Would Be An Excellent Addition

Starman Jack Knight and Will Payton

Starman is a name that has been attached to several heroes. Any of them would be a great addition to the line-up of DC Super-Heroes. Jack Knight's cosmic staff has already seen inclusion in an accessory for Stargirl. The original Starman would also make for a wonderful inclusion in another wave of pouched Minifigures.

There are also possibilities for Mikaal Tomas, the blue-skinned alien Starman, Prince Gavyn with his staff as an accessory, or Will Payton who had a wonderful black and red costume. The smart choice would be for the Golden Age Starman or his son Jack Knight who inherited the mantle following Zero Hour.

6 Red Tornado: A Small Tornado Accessory Would Be Keen For Builders

Red Tornado in LEGO video game

Red Tornado is a super-hero that is almost always associated with the Justice League. His tornado powers make for spectacular effects, and LEGO should be no different. A Minifigure for this hero should include a platform shaped like his trademark red tornado effect.

The mini-tornado effect shouldn't be a hard sculpt, but another possibility is to use the same piece included in the "Dark Knight Returns" Joker in the first wave of pouched collectible DC Super Heroes Minifigures. Recolored red, the accessory could be used as one demonstration of Red Tornado's power.

5 Power Girl: She's NOT Just A Supergirl Clone

Power Girl in lego video game

As the Earth-2 version of Supergirl, Power Girl seems like one of the easier sculpts for LEGO.  However, an effort should be made to make her unique with her own hair and cape. As shown in her video game appearances, custom printed legs are a necessity.

Accessories are tricky, though, since the character isn't known for many specific things. Perhaps a page could be taken by doing a two packed $4.99 pouch with a new Harley Quinn, drawing from their mini-series together. The accessories for that small set could derive from that series.

4 Big Barda: Mister Miracle Looks Lonely Without His Wife

Big Barda In LEgo video game

Mister Miracle got representation in the first wave of Collectible Minifigures, but his wife, Big Barda is still missing. With her unique headpiece and mega rod, Barda can be a welcome addition to the DC Super Heroes line. If ever another set was made featuring Darkseid, it would be an ideal chance to introduce Big Barda to LEGO fans.

Barda's height is a defining feature of the character, so it should be reflected in her Minifigure. An extra plate in her torso would accomplish this adequately. The real trick is sculpting that headpiece.

3 Zatanna: DC's Iconic Magician Needs To Be Immortalized In Plastic

Zatanna in LEGO video games

Zatanna is a bridge between the world of superheroes and magic. As a former member of the Justice League, she can fit seamlessly with an adventure with any combination of JLA members. She's had many different looks, but the first costume her Minifigure should come in has to be her tuxedo-inspired stage outfit, complete with a top hat.

While a wand is a necessary accessory, it shouldn't be the only one. A rabbit could be a compatible inclusion. If she to be released with a set, the possibilities are endless, including special effects or LEGO versions of traditional magic act equipment.

2 Batman Beyond: Possibly the Only Version of Batman Without a Minifigure

Batman Beyond in LEGO Batman Video Game

Terry McGinnis of Batman Beyond has become a fan-favorite character. He has made a LEGO appearance in video games, but in plastic, he may be the last version to not exist. There have been multiple versions of the Caped Crusader, including a Comic-Con exclusive Batman from the planet Zur-En-Arrh.

Batman Beyond needs to make use of the red glider wings, possibly as a hard cape-like accessory. If LEGO chooses to go the same route as the video games, then the bat cowl would be set off with a black Minifigure face. Of course, any set featuring Terry should probably have old Bruce Wayne and a new version of Ace the Bat-hound.

1 Swamp Thing: The One Supersized Minifigure That Must be Made Eventually

Swamp Thing from LEGO video games

Supersized Minifigures are usually used for characters that are massive compared to other characters in a line. Thanos, Hulk, and Darkseid have all been made into supersized Minifigures. It's only natural that Swamp Thing should get the same treatment.

After getting a Swamp Thing Minifigure, it becomes a logical step for LEGO fans to create builds that make use of various organic and plant-based pieces. LEGO could extend this aesthetic to the Minifigure by including a couple of studs to place flowers or greenery. It would certainly be nice to see how fans would use such a unique character.
