DC Comics has an entire mythical system upon which the multiverse relies. Unlike Marvel, DC puts a lot of emphasis on godly beings. Be it The Presence or Lucifer Morningstar, DC have a plethora of gods capable of wiping Earth out of existence if they want it enough.

They are most definitely the strongest beings in the DC Multiverse, which makes it all the more impressive for some superhero to beat them down. There aren't many superheroes who can dominate deities but there are some who can definitely give them a run for their money.

10 Plastic Man

Plastic Man and the Freedom Fighters vs Nazi and bugs

Always ready to be the joke of the town, Plastic Man has an array of abilities, ranging from nigh-Invulnerability to existing in a solid and liquid state. If anything, it is the uniqueness of Plastic Man's superpowers that make him such a formidable foe for anyone. He might not be able to manhandle the most powerful deities, but he can definitely make them sweat.

9 The Flash

The Flash might not have the strength to trouble gods, but he surely has some other skills to give them a fight. Many superheroes have taken up the mantle of The Flash, with Wally West showing the most impressive abilities. He was so fast that he could manipulate time and travel between dimensions. Furthermore, the velocity at which the DC superhero moves makes his attacks much more powerful. If The Flash is smart enough, he can beat anyone, gods included.

8 Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman

Amazonians were created to keep Ares in check, so it's only expected for Themyscira to produce some otherworldly warriors every once in a while. Diana, aka Wonder Woman, is as strong as her friend Clark Kent and there's no doubt that she is one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in the DC Universe.

Moreover, she has beaten Ares all alone. If she is provided with enough incentive, Diana can grow stronger with rage.

7 Superman

SUPERMAN TRAGEDIES - Final Crisis

Superman has obvious Kryptonite weaknesses but if they are out of the picture, there aren't many beings who can stand up to him. He is dependent on solar energy for his exploits, which means his reservoir of energy is seldom empty as the Sun is a constant force in the solar system. He can be pegged back during a battle but it is very difficult to keep him down with the use of Kryptonite. Clark Kent has already beaten a few gods.

6 Supergirl

DC Comics

Supergirl is stronger than Superman. Kara Zor-El is Clark Kent's cousin and despite all of her abilities being equal to Superman, it has been argued that she is just that little bit more powerful, as witnessed and said by many DC supervillains. Much like her compatriot, Supergirl shows similar weaknesses to Kryptonite. Nevertheless, she is not just a supporting act for Superman.

5 Martian Manhunter

DC Martian Manhunter Rage Attack

Martian Manhunter is one of the last surviving members of an extinct Martian race. He has been around for 225 million years and his superpowers are as dangerous as they come. Known as John Jones on Earth, Martian Manhunter's strength can be easily compared to Superman.

He is one of the most popular superheroes in the DC Comics and it is just a matter of time before he shows himself in the DCEU. Maybe he'll debut when the New God hunts Earth.

4 Green Lantern

Daniel Young Green Lantern

An intergalactic space force tasked with defending the universe is how the Green Lantern Corps should be defined. The source of a Green Lantern's power is the Power Ring that can do anything, as long as the willpower of the user is good enough. Hal Jordan is considered to be one of the strongest superheroes of all time just because of the stuff he can do using sheer willpower. Be it time travel, creating energy constructs, or even altering reality, there isn't much a Green Lantern cannot do.

3 Captain Atom

A master of the quantum world, Nathaniel Adam, aka Captain Atom, exerts a degree of control over something almost none can perceive through their eyes. He not only has the access to unlimited quantum energy but he can also survive without oxygen or food, thanks to his incredibly unique physiology. Killing Captain Atom, or hurting him for that matter, is almost impossible because his metallic coat provides him protection from everything. He can manipulate matter to a molecular level. So much so that he can bring anything made of matter into existence.

2 The Spectre

The Spectre Justice Society

Even though the Spectre is a fibre of the Presence, at the end of the day, it is just a roaming spirit looking for a mortal host to survive. No one has ever put a barrier on the Spectre's potential. DC's Spirit of Vengeance can do whatever he wants and at different points, some of his superpowers have been redacted by a higher force, so as to make sure he doesn't ever misuse them again. The Spectre has as good a chance as any to annihilate a few DC gods.

1 Doctor Manhattan

Doctor Manhattan comes back to life

Jonathan Osterman became Doctor Manhattan through a science experiment gone wrong. Since then, he has gone on to become one of the most overpowered beings in the history of DC Comics. He can manipulate time, reality, matter, and even his physical form. He is one mortal who can be perceived as a God, owing to the kind of things he can do. The only bad thing about Doctor Manhattan is he doesn't care enough to fight gods. He just wants to get on with his life.
