The Shazam Family has held their own against several enemies during the DC Rebirth era, but their latest opponent is easily their deadliest yet.

Series colorist Michael Atiyeh shared the cover for Shazam! #13, as drawn by Dale Eaglesham. The cover reveals the return of Superboy-Prime, the evil Superboy from Earth-Prime who boosted his powers significantly by wearing a modified version of the Anti-Monitor's armor. The Shazam Family lies defeated around him.

Originally appearing as a teenage ally during Crisis on Infinite Earths, Superboy-Prime's time isolated in a pocket dimension with Alexander Luthor, Jr. eventually warped the young hero. Writer Geoff Johns reimagined the character as a murderous villain in the crossover event Infinite Crisis, where he used his powers for evil as he embraced his selfish, violent nature.

Since then, Superboy-Prime served as a prominent figure within the Sinestro Corps and menaced three different Legions of Super-Heroes during Final Crisis, as a threat for the entire DC Multiverse. The villain has been conspicuously absent during the subsequent New 52 and DC Rebirth eras, but appears to be back with a vengeance and the Shazam Family in his sights.

Geoff Johns and Dale Eaglesham's Shazam! #13 has not yet received an official release date from DC Comics.
