Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment today revealed the first look at Lauren Faust's redesigned art for the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls television series. The Cartoon Network reboot series was originally revealed back in May of last year, when it was announced the series would jump from direct-to-video movies and webisodes to a full-blown series order.

Faust is best known for her work in reviving the My Little Pony property with the massively popular television series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The series will be executive produced by Warner Bros. Animation chief Sam Register, who is currently in charge of running Cartoon Network series Teen Titans GO! and Justice League Action. A Teen Titans GO! movie, Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, is slated to hit theaters on July 27.

The DC Super Hero Girls franchise kicked off back in 2015 with a web series that followed the adventures of younger versions of Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Katana and Bumblebee, both as superheroes and students. Both the rebooted series and the original webisodes are targeted at young girls.

The rebooted series looks to focus on a slightly different crew of heroes, placing new relevance on characters introduced in the previous series. The DC Super Hero Girls reboot will follow Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Bumblebee, Zatanna and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz as they figure out what it means to be heroes growing up.
