Six Flags Over Georgia plans to introduce DC Super Friends, the first-ever DC Comics-themed zone for kids, featuring Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Joker and Harley Quinn.
It's part of a larger rollout of DC attractions first announced last year for Six Flags' 18 theme parks across North America. The other new additions include The Joker roller coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California; Justice League: Battle for Metropolis at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, and Six Flags Mexico in Mexico City; The Riddler Revenge, Catwoman Revenge and Harley Quinn Spinsanity at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas; and Superman the Ride at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts.
Accompanying the new Bugs Bunny Boomtown, DC Super Friends is set to debut Memorial Day weekend 2016 at Six Flags Over Georgia, replacing the Dolphin Show area of the Austell, Georgia, park.
The five new DC kids' attractions are: Superman Tower of Power, a 65-foot-tall bouncing thrill ride; The Batcopters, in which children help save Gotham by flying high in the sky; Wonder Woman Flight School, in which kids take flight in their own invisible jets; the Harley Quinn Mirror Maze; and The Joker Funhouse Coaster, which takes daredevils through 900 feet of track at 30 miles per hour.
“These two new sections of the park will offer families hours and hours of fun with attractions mom, dad and the kids can experience together,” park President Dale Kaetzel said in a statement. “This latest expansion continues our multi-year plan to provide thrills for guests of all ages and includes the addition of Hurricane Harbor in 2014, two new devious rides in Gotham City in 2015 and other additions planned for the future.”
