As Stargirl Season 2 continues its run on The CW, recurring stars Neil Hopkins and Joy Osmanski have been promoted to series regulars for the upcoming Season 3.

According to Deadline, Hopkins and Osmanski -- who play the supervillains Sportsmaster and Tigress, respectively -- will serve as series regulars when the DC television series returns for its third season. Both members of the Injustice Society of America, Sportsmaster and Tigress appeared throughout Stargirl Season 1. They are expected to return in the fourth episode of Season 2, "Summer School: Chapter Four," which is slated to air Aug. 31 on The CW.

Sportsmaster and Tigress are the villainous alter egos of married couple Lawrence "Crusher" Crock and Paula Brooks. Lawrence and Paula are the parents of Artemis Crock (played on Stargirl by Stella Smith), who herself eventually takes on the mantle of Tigress in the original DC comic books. Many fans are likely to be familiar with Artemis thanks to her role in the Young Justice animated series.

Created by John Broome and Irwin Hasen, Lawrence Crock/Sportsmaster first appeared in 1947's All-American Comics #85. Created by Mort Meskin, the Paula Brooks version of Tigress came onto the scene a few months later, debuting in 1947's Sensation Comics #68. It would be four decades before the pair's daughter, Artemis Crock, joined the fray, with the Roy Thomas and Todd McFarlane-created character first appearing in 1987's Infinity, Inc. #34.

Stargirl originally premiered on the now-defunct DC Universe streaming service in 2020, with new episodes airing on The CW -- home of DC's Arrowverse -- the day after their streaming premiere. Following its 13-episode first season, Stargirl was renewed for Season 2 and moved exclusively to The CW. Stargirl Season 2 kicked off earlier this month on Aug. 10, with the show having received an early Season 3 renewal back in May.

Stargirl airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
