DC spotlights upcoming projects in 'Horizon'

Official Press Release

Beginning in February, DC Comics gives retailers and consumers advance looks at an exciting mix of upcoming projects in the new promotional publication HORIZON. Every month, this free, 8-page publication will spotlight projects from the DC Universe, WildStorm Productions, VERTIGO, and more.

Retailers will receive the premiere issue of HORIZON (PROMM0570) on February 5 in quantities based on their initial orders of SUPERMAN #190; quantities of subsequent issues of HORIZON will be based on the following months' initial orders on SUPERMAN. Retailers will be given the opportunity to order additional copies of HORIZON beginning issue #4, offered in the March issue of Previews (Volume XIII #3) in bundles of 50 at a cost of $5.00 U.S. net.

The first issue of HORIZON spotlights two suggested for mature readers projects from VERTIGO: the hardcover graphic novel ORBITER (FEB030227, scheduled to be in stores on April 23), written by Warren Ellis with art by Colleen Doran, and the 5-issue miniseries BEWARE THE CREEPER (FEB030217, scheduled to be in stores on April 16), written by Jason Hall with art by Cliff Chiang.

"We designed HORIZON based on feedback from retailers who told us how much they wanted a handout for their customers that included actual comics pages," says Matt Keller, Manager - Marketing Services. "HORIZON gives us the flexibility to feature titles from any imprint, and we're scheduling it to reach stores well before orders on the projects are due."

HORIZON #1 includes the cover and six interior pages from ORBITER as well as the cover and five interior pages from BEWARE THE CREEPER #1. Both ORBITER and BEWARE THE CREEPER #1 are solicited in the February issue of Previews (Volume XIII #2) and are scheduled to be in stores in April.

HORIZON #2, scheduled to be in stores in March, will focus on two new projects from the DC Universe: JSA: ALL-STARS and THE TITANS/YOUNG JUSTICE: GRADUATION DAY.
