DC artist Robson do Carmo Rocha is currently in hospital due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and is in need of donations.

On Twitter, Brazilian comic book artist Fabi Marques revealed that Rocha is currently at Eduardo de Menezes Hospital struggling with COVID-19 and is in need of aid. Marques called for blood donations and offered a link through which supporters can donate.

Rocha is known for his work on titles such as Birds of Prey, Batman/Superman, Batman: Arkham KnightSuperboy and more. He has also provided cover art for Aquaman (in addition to being the series' main artist), Supergirl and Teen Titans, among other major DC books. Rocha became a breakout star following DC Rebirth in 2016, though he had worked with the publisher before that on other projects.

Since the pandemic emerged, it has severely reduced the supply of blood in hospitals worldwide. These hospitals regularly encourage donations from both donors who have not contracted COVID-19 and those who have recovered for at least two weeks, as suggested by the U.S Food and Drug Administration.

Thus far, more than 20 percent of the Brazilian population has been vaccinated, with only the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine given final approval, though others have been deployed and are being trialled in various regions across the country.
