With Netflix's television adaptation of writer Neil Gaiman's seminal Vertigo Comics title The Sandman set to premiere sometime in 2022, DC is reprinting the entire original series across four volumes starting in April.

Originally created by Gaiman alongside artist Sam Kieth and inker Mike Dringenberg, The Sandman ran for a total of 75 issues from Dec. 31, 1988 to Jan. 31, 1996. The acclaimed series became a hallmark of DC's Vertigo imprint, spawning a number of tie-ins and spinoffs over the years, not to mention an audio drama adaption and the upcoming Netflix show. The Sandman has been collected in numerous forms, including the original trade paperbacks and various re-issues, as well as a hardcover omnibus collection and a DC Absolute collection.

This latest reprinting collects all 75 issues of The Sandman (and a bit more) in four paperback volumes, which each top 500 pages. Per DC's March 2022 solicitations, things are slated to kick off on April 5, 2022 with the release of The Sandman Book One, which collects issues #1-20. Following suit on April 19, 2022 is The Sandman Book Two, which collects issues #21-37, as well as the relevant stories from Vertigo: Winter's Edge #1-3.

Next up is The Sandman Book Three, which is scheduled for release on May 3, 2022 and collects The Sandman #38-56, as well as a story from Vertigo Preview #1. Finally, The Sandman Book Four hits shelves on May 17, 2022. The fourth and final volume collects issues #57-75, plus stories from Vertigo Jam and Dust Covers.

The Sandman Book One retails for $29.99 USD, while the subsequent three books retail for $34.99 each. These new printings will presumably come complete with new cover art, which has not been revealed at this time.
