DC Publisher Paul Levitz to take part in Library of Congress event commemorating September 11

On September 7, the exhibition "Witness and Response: September 11 Acquisitions at the Library of Congress," opens in Washington, D.C. The exhibit showcases works created by musicians, photographers, artists and cultural historians in response to September 11, including original artwork from DC's SEPTEMBER 11th Volume 2.

The event also features numerous panels including "September 11th Comic Book Artists and Illustrators," which takes place on Wednesday, October 2 and features DC Publisher Paul Levitz, who edited and contributed to SEPTEMBER 11th Volume 2. Also on the panel are legendary comics creator Will Eisner, writer/artist Peter Kuper, writer/artist Trina Robbins, and publisher/editor Jeff Mason.

"It's among the greatest honors of my career to be a part of this presentation," says Levitz. "The power of comics has never been more clearly demonstrated than in the work of the writers and artists who responded to September 11th, and my presence in Washington will be on behalf of the creative talents and those who worked behind the scenes to make our book a reality."

The exhibition will be on display in the Great Hall of the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building, First and Independence Ave. S.E., Washington, D.C., Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 26. For more information on the exhibit, visit www.loc.gov/exhibits.
