Given the nature of DC Comic's ever-changing repeatedly rebooted universe, fans have seen characters go through a number of different costumes over the years, whether they are changing to bring in new readers or to acclimate with the new state of the DCU.

While some characters like Poison Ivy have managed to stay in a similar variation of their original costume for years, she has had a few exciting alterations to her costume due to the various comic reboots or appearances in other mediums. But which Poison Ivy costume was the best?

10 DC SUPER HERO GIRLS

While it's set outside regular DC continuity, DC Super Hero Girls is an animated series that focuses on the adventures of teenage female heroes while they deal with the various villains that pop up at Metropolis High.

When Poison Ivy appeared on the series as another teenager at the school, her costume was basically a green dress with a rose on her belt and darker green tights, keeping her color motif but losing the eco-terrorist look for a safer, fairy-inspired appearance.

9 HEROES IN CRISIS

Poison ivy was recently killed by an out-of-control Wally West/Flash during the Heroes in Crisis storyline after she attempted to get psychological help at Sanctuary, the Justice League's secretive mental health facility.

However, due to Ivy's unique abilities, she was able to regrow herself into a new body, though it hadn't yet bloomed into its final form, leaving Ivy in a green body made of defined musculature that was an incomplete step in the right direction.

8 LIVE-ACTION

Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy in Batman Robin

1997's Batman & Robin brought the character to live-action for the first time, with Uma Thurman in the role of Dr. Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, who wore a few different versions of her costume over the course of the film.

Thurman's Poison Ivy initially wore a slightly overdone version of her classic costume before switching to a complete bodysuit that moved from light green to dark with a flowery belt, complete with the barest hint of a viny mask that arches over her eyebrows, though her final costume darkened further into a furious red.

7 INJUSTICE 2

Poison Ivy appeared as a playable character in the Injustice 2 video game, which took place in an alternate DC universe that had been taken over by Superman and his Regime, creating a resistance led by Batman that wasforced to fight together against the threat of Brainiac.

Poison Ivy's Injustice look is a bit more seasonal, with the greens enhanced by the yellows and reds of autumn, but the biggest difference is the almost constant presence of the mutated venus fly traps that hover around her shoulders, ready for battle.

6 CLASSIC

When Poison Ivy first appeared in the pages of 1966's Batman #181, she wore her now-classic costume that featured a crown of ivy atop her head, a corset of leafy fronds and lighter green tights with an ivy design down the legs.

Completed with a pair of green pixie boot heels, this costume would remain a constant for the character for years, though Ivy's skin would later take on a green tone that she would keep for most of her modern appearances, allowing her to lose the green tights.

5 BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES

Poison Ivy was given an animated makeover when she appeared in Batman: The Animated Series, which originally featured a simplified version of her classic costume, complete with a wrist-mounted crossbow.

The character would get yet another look when the series was transformed into The New Batman Adventures, which darkened her costume and lightened her skin, leading to her eventual green-skinned transformation in the comics. This final version of Ivy would be modified slightly for later appearances in The Batman and Young Justice animated series

4 HARLEY QUINN

With the launch of the DC Universe streaming app, fans were rewarded with the hilarious Harley Quinn animated series which features Poison Ivy, voiced by Lake Bell, alongside her BFF (and sometimes more) Harley.

This version of Poison Ivy abandons the usual comic-book costume for a minimalistic jacket, white shirt, and the tights from her classic costume, which works very well for this version of Ivy while calling back to her comic book roots.

3 ARKHAM ASYLUM

Poison Ivy in the Arkham games

The fan-favorite Batman: Arkham Asylum video game series introduced a few different takes on Gotham City's villains, including Poison Ivy, who also appeared in the sequel games Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight.

This version of Poison Ivy wasn't wearing much more than her red Arkham prisoner shirt, however, the vines and designs that usually accompanied her costume were instead laid out on her skin as a representation of her abilities, which developed in the comics as well.

2 REBIRTH

While Poison Ivy was able to regrow herself after her apparent death in the Heroes in Crisis mini-series, her new body was a basic human recreation without much flair from Ivy herself, though it wouldn't be long until she found her new look.

Shortly after her return, Lex Luthor sent Ivy enhanced fertilizer and she adopted an armored version of her classic costume in the pages of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy, though she later grew into her new final form that featured a costume made of leaves and bark that redefined her as nature's eco-warrior.

1 NEW 52

Poison Ivy during the New 52

When the DC Universe was rebooted after the Flashpoint event into the New 52 universe, a number of characters were given newly updated costumes that reflected the more modern-era of the new timeline, with some turning out better than others.

Poison Ivy's costume was given a much darker look with an all-black bodysuit that extended onto her face and green moss that grew across other parts of her body, creating a bold new look for the character that was one of the shining points of the New 52.
