  • The world is dying. Grifter may just be our last hope, but things aren’t looking too good for him either. Luckily, his trusty teammates will stand by his side until the end. Meet the new WildC.A.T.s: Green Arrow, Robin, Savant, Scarecrow, Maul, and Midnighter.

Along with Grifter's recent "death" and resurrection following a run-in with Angel Breaker (Grifter revealed he faked his demise in WildC.A.T.s #6 after learning about the Halo Corporation's shady machinations), DC's ongoing WildC.A.T.s series has seen Mr. Majestic, who is a member of the all-new Seven Soldiers of Victory team, claim to be a survivor of Krypton. This sent Mr. Majestic on a collision course with Superman, who immediately disbelieved the claims but has yet to find substantial proof indicating Majestic is lying. Superman began investigating the matter as journalist Clark Kent in WildC.A.T.s #6; however, he was also warned by Batman to leave the matter alone in the very same issue.

Batman told Superman he'd handle looking into the Halo Corporation and Majestic's claims, which could explain Damian's (Batman and Talia al Ghul's biological son) reasoning for joining the team. Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, meanwhile, is currently stuck on a cosmic island with Roy Harper's daughter, Lian, in his solo series (by writer Joshua Williamson and artist Izaakse) following the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths; however, WildC.A.T.s #8 could either be set at a different time or include different reasoning for Green Arrow's presence.

WildC.A.T.s #8 features cover art by Segovia and variant cover art by Kael Ngu and Otto Schmidt. The issue releases on June 13, 2023, from DC Comics.
