There are many superheroes in the comics, both in DC and in Marvel, and each of them is different, chooses a different approach to fighting villains. Some of them like to work alone and don't trust other heroes, while others thrive when they can work in a team full of like-minded heroes.

Mera stands somewhere in between, she prefers to rely on herself, but when the situation calls for it, she's willing to join forces with other superheroes as well, and not just her partner Aquaman. If Mera crossed over to the Marvel universe to fight its enemy, she would team up with some of its heroes but would hate others.

10 Would Team-Up: Captain America

At first glance, it might seem like Mera and Captain America don't have a lot in common. After all, they do come from two different worlds. If Mera needed back-up for an underwater battle, Captain America wouldn't be of much use to her, unless she'd provide him with the means to breathe freely underwater for a long period of time.

But if the battle was taking place on land, Mera and Captain America could make a great team. They're both strong, skilled at hand to hand combat, and can take down a large number of opponents alone, let alone as a duo.

9 Would Hate: Hulk

Mera has teamed-up with many heroes before, but she usually works alongside her husband Aquaman since these two get along the best, even though they do have their differences sometimes.

Mera is the type of a fighter who can appreciate using a raw strength against your opponent but considering how difficult the Hulk can be to deal with, she'd probably only fight alongside him if there was no other choice. Mera has little patience for fools, and with all due respect to Hulk, he's not the most brilliant person out there, at least when he's the Hulk and not Bruce Banner.

8 Would Team-Up: Thor

It may not seem like it at first glance but Thor and Mera actually have a lot in common. They both come from a royal background, are accustomed to living in certain conditions and acting in certain ways, ways that differentiate them from the majority of the world and sometimes make them feel like outsiders.

They might be wary of each other at the beginning but Thor respects strong female warriors and once Mera would see what he can do, she'd recognize the advantage of having Thor as her ally. Plus, their powers complement each other well, since each of them can control a different element of the Earth.

7 Would Hate: Iron Man

Iron Man is a useful team member when facing a common enemy, but dealing with him can be often difficult. He tends to do his own thing, even when another superhero has a better idea of what could be done. Tony Stark also seems arrogant to many people, and while he has many good traits, he's not exactly a people person.

All of this would make it difficult for Mera and Iron Man to work together. Mera would probably be less than impressed by Stark and he'd give her a piece of his mind in return, so these two would just get on each other's nerves.

6 Would Team-Up: Storm

As hinted above, Mera is the type of person who respects strong warriors, both those who know how to fight and those who have strong minds and cannot be swayed. It would, therefore, make sense if she and Storm would join forces in a crisis.

Storm is a member of the X-Men but she also ruled Wakanda for a time as Black Panther's wife so she's accustomed to royal ways and she and Mera would hit it off almost immediately. Mera would respect Storm since Storm is always taking care of her people, just like Mera does, and that's not the only thing they have in common.

5 Would Hate: Punisher

Frank Castle aka the Punisher isn't the easiest of men to get along well with. To be fair to Frank, it's not exactly his fault. The tragedy in the form of the murder of his whole family has twisted him and made him into the man he's today.

It's difficult to call him a superhero, an antihero would probably be a more fitting name, but since Frank sometimes works with superheroes, he deserves a spot on this list. Mera wouldn't like him, she wouldn't trust him and think he could turn against her, and she also probably wouldn't agree with his methods and morals.

4 Would Team-Up: Rogue

If these two superheroines met, Mera would be wary of Rogue once she'd learn the truth about her powers, and for a good reason. If Rogue wasn't wearing her gloves and would be careless enough to touch Mera, she'd steal her powers which is something that Mera would take bad, to put it mildly.

Still, if the circumstances were severe enough, Rogue and Mera would join forces to help people, at least if they fought against a superpowered villain. Mera would clear the road for Rogue to be able to reach the villain and de-power him, so their powers would work well together.

3 Would Hate: Doctor Strange

Magic and water powers may sound like a good combination at first... And it would also probably work well, except the fact that Mera and Doctor Strange wouldn't most likely see eye to eye.

Doctor Strange is a brilliant magician and a powerful superhero, but he can also be arrogant and act like a know-it-all, similarly to Iron Man, which wouldn't bring him closer to Mera but quite the opposite. If forced to work together, they could do it, but as soon as the fight would be over, they would part ways as quickly as they would be able to.

2 Would Team-Up: Human Torch

Opposites attract, as the old saying goes. In the case of Mera and Human Torch, it wouldn't be a romantic attraction but the attraction of powers. To be honest, Mera would probably be annoyed by Johnny since he usually acts cocky and a bit too arrogant for her, but when it would to devising strategy, Mera would be wise enough to put their differences aside for the time being and just focus on how they can work together as a team.

Human Torch controls fire, Mera controls water, and together, they'd be almost unstoppable, especially if they would bring Thor into the team as well.

1 Would Hate: Namor

It would make a perfect sense if Mera and Namor joined forces. The problem is that it wouldn't work between those two, despite - or maybe because of the fact - that they have similar power sets and are accustomed to living in the same environment, underwater.

There aren't that many superheroes Namor gets along with, in fact, he hates most of them to a bigger or lesser degree, and the only notable exception is Sue Storm. He and Mera are both stubborn and proud and they would butt heads from the beginning, so any alliance between them would be filled with tension and wouldn't end well.
