Superhero action figures have been a part of comic book culture for decades now, with countless toys being released over the years. Similarly, as any fan of the sport will tell you, action figures are also utterly massive in the world of professional wrestling. These two worlds are now colliding thanks to DC's ¡Lucha Explosiva! figure line.

This new line of premium-grade figures from DC Collectibles reimagines some of DC Comics' most iconic heroes -- including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman -- as Latin-American luchadores. However, the good guys won't be the only ones taking bumps, as a few of DC's own rudos will also join the fun, including Deathstroke, Cheetah and Metallo II.

Moreover, each 7" figure will come with their own unique backstory that explains who exactly each character is and where they come from in this proverbial Lucha-verse.

"DC Collectibles is always striving to bring fans imaginative new ways to extend and celebrate DC's most iconic characters," DC Collectibles Executive Creative Director Jim Fletcher said. "DC ¡Lucha Explosiva! is a passion project for us. We're all huge fans of Lucha Libre, and merging Mexican Luchadores with superheroes seemed like a perfect fit. Besides obvious similarities like masks, capes and secret identities, we also think there is a huge crossover between fan bases."

DC Collectibles will be presenting the ¡Lucha Explosiva! at the Jacob Javits Center in New York during this year's American International Toy Fair. The figures will go on sale in August.
