The creators of Game of Thrones have a new project in the works. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have signed on to adapt Hans Rodionoff's graphic novel Lovecraft as a thriller for Warner Bros.

The graphic novel chronicles the life of author H.P. Lovecraft and imagines a world in which his monsters were actually real. Although details about the project are being kept under wraps for now, Deadline reports Benioff and Weiss have been developing it with Warner Bros’ Courtenay Valenti and Toby Emmerich for several years.

The movie will reportedly be "set in 1920 within the Cthulhu mythos" and will contemplate the same questions the graphic novel did about Lovecraft's monsters and horror creatures. It is also unclear whether the Game of Thrones alums will direct. They have tapped Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi to write the script and Karyn Kusama to executive produce.

After the series finale of Game of Thrones aired last May,  Benioff and Weiss signed a huge deal with Netflix and subsequently had to drop out of the deal they made to produce a Star Wars trilogy.
