Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Telltale Games have debuted a new story trailer for the upcoming LEGO DC Super-Villains video game. While previous trailers have focused on lesser villains, this one introduces, arguably, the biggest and baddest adversary DC Comics has to offer.
In the new footage, players are finally introduced to Darkseid, who immediately vows to take over Earth. When he asks who will be able to stop him, it’s then that we meet the “rookie” -- the player's custom character.
The trailer provides a look at some of the custom abilities players will be able to give their characters, as well as some of the other villains coming to the game. Notable DC rogues like Deathstroke, Killer Frost and The Joker -- voiced once again by Mark Hamill -- all play a role and lend a hand in helping to defeat the ultimate evil.
Unlike past LEGO titles, DC Super-Villains will enable players create their own characters, presenting them with a ton of options in terms of customization, all while placing them in the middle of the first-ever villain-centered storyline. In the game, a group of mysterious imposters called the Justice Syndicate have taken over for the Justice League, and it’s up to the rookie and the cast of villains to stop them and Darkseid from terrorizing the planet.
LEGO DC Super-Villains will be released Oct. 16 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
