As DC's Legends of Tomorrow awaits word on a Season 8 renewal from The CW, the show's cast and crew are taking matters into their own hands. On Twitter, the official Legends of Tomorrow Writers Room account launched the #RenewLegendsofTomorrow campaign with the aim of "[drumming] up support and good vibes for a Season 8 renewal." "While we don't think we're in trouble, we want to make sure the whole world (cough cough a certain network) knows what a special, weird little goblin of a TV show this is," the account explained.RELATED: Legends of Tomorrow Star Exits the Arrowverse Series in Season 7 Finale

A number of Legends of Tomorrow stars have joined in on the Twitter campaign as well, such as Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance/White Canary, and Matt Letscher, who plays Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash. "Kicking off those memories and favorite scenes... THAT TIME SARA AND AVA MET OBAMA AND HE SAID HOW GREAT LEGENDS WAS AND THAT IT NEEDS A SEASON 8," Lotz wrote. "I've died in the [Arrowverse] four times now. What’s one more? I DEMAND A REMATCH!!" Letscher added.

Set within The CW's Arrowverse, Legends of Tomorrow premiered in early 2016 as a spinoff series featuring characters from both Arrow and The Flash, plus new ones. Earlier this year on March 2, Legends wrapped up its seventh season with "Knocked Down, Knocked Up," the show's 110th episode overall. "Knocked Down, Knocked Up" was notable for finally introducing the DC character Michael Jon Carter/Booster Gold to the Arrowverse, with Scrubs alum Donald Faison stepping into the role.

"His name has come up I feel like every single season, as far as back as I can remember," Legends executive producer Phil Klemmer said of Booster Gold. "And it seems maybe the one time that we didn't expect him, was the one time he landed in our laps." On that note, Booster's appearance in the Season 7 finale definitely left the door open for future appearances.

On March 22, The CW announced that it had renewed seven of its 19 scripted original series for new seasons, including the Arrowverse shows The Flash and Superman & Lois. However, while The Flash and Superman & Lois have been renewed for Season 9 and Season 3, respectively, Legends of Tomorrow has yet to be renewed for Season 8. Similarly, fellow Arrowverse series Batwoman is still waiting on a potential Season 4 renewal.
