The following contains spoilers for DC League of Super-Pets, now in theaters.

In DC League of Super-Pets, Dwayne Johnson's Krypto and Kevin Hart's Ace were lucky they could rely on their fellow animals to stop the evil guinea pig, Lulu. Together with Chip (the electricity-shooting squirrel), PB (the pig who could alter her size), and the turtle-speedster in Merton, they were able to take Lulu out after they all got powers from some orange kryptonite and save the Justice League.

It led to them becoming pet allies to the League in the wake of the grand battle, intent on helping Krypto protect the world. However, by the time the film wrapped, there were key threads left dangling that teased a few directions a sequel, as well as spinoffs, could follow.

DC League of Super-Pets 2 Can Focus on Lulu's Revenge

Lulu initially got super-intelligence after being experimented on by Lex, but it was the orange kryptonite that gave her godlike powers of flight and telekinesis. Krypto was able to de-power her after she merged with the alien mineral, but she ended up with Mercy after the war was over rather than be placed in jail. Seeing as Mercy has Lex's war-suit, Lulu could use it to create upgraded suits for them, as well as for a new army. She still has some super-powered guinea pigs around that might be loyal to her, plus she can make robotic soldiers to complement them too.

After all, both hated how Lex -- and men in general -- try to take credit for women's hard work, so this could be their way of smashing the patriarchy. This can even allow them to incorporate more women into their league, from Cheetah to Giganta to Poison Ivy, to teach the heroes, and especially misogynistic villains, a lesson. Given how smart Lulu is, there's even a chance she can crack her genetic code and power herself up again as the kryptonite became a literal part of her for some time.

DC League of Super-Pets 2 Can Bring Lex Back

Lex was left in a cell at the end of DC League of Super-Pets, out in the Metropolis streets. Thus, he could have broken free and headed off to create an army of his own. He's got the missile blasting kittie, Whiskers, and the guinea pigs if he wants to bring them into the fold, not to mention he has all his tech back at LexCorp. Lex was also seen with an array of other kryptonite -- such as red and green -- in his lab, plus if he does get some orange, he could become a godlike being as well. In short, Lex has a lot of fodder to bulk his arsenal up, and go after the League and their pets in a potential sequel.

This would push Krypto to level up, but he'd be a lot more confident this time around with the indestructible Ace as the Bat-Hound, Chip as Jessica Cruz's Green Lantern buddy, Merton as a Flash, Mark as Cyborg's fire-spewing guinea pig, Keith as Aquaman's ice and water-bending guinea pig, and lastly, PB as Diana's Wonder Pig. Such a direction can even allow Lulu and Mercy to join the heroes and redeem themselves, with all these pets and the League forming a giant alliance to end the threat of Lex once and for all.

DC League of Super-Pets 2 Can Take the Heroes to Space

Crime on Earth's basically covered as the League's already there patrolling, but seeing as Chip's a Lantern, there could be a job in space waiting that'll focus on the pets alone again. This would add much more dynamism and humor to the series, allowing the pets to show they're just as good, if not better than the League, at cosmic capers. Seeing as Kevin and Mark are so intelligent, they could act as their Oracle, coordinating these kinds of missions in their own Pet-Watchtower.

Just like how they had to rescue the League on Earth, the sequel can even have the pets heading off to space should the heroes go missing on missions to places like Oa, Apokolips or New Genesis. Dex-Starr, a vicious Red Lantern cat, could be one enemy they'd need to fight, plus there's an array of galactic villains, from Despero to Starro to Mongul, who'd make for formidable opposition. Seeing them adapt to this new life would be quite hilarious, especially as they're still a bumbling troupe trying to find their footing on land, which would make gravity-deficient outings off-world quite challenging.

DC League of Super-Pets Can Produce Solo Spinoffs

DC League of Super-Pets Batman

Now, while it's fun seeing all the pets united as a team at last, there's a lot to mine in terms of the individual animals and their growth curve away from each other. For example, Keanu Reeves' Batman is struggling with his grief, as well as Ace, who got booted by a family that thought he was too violent. Thus, a spinoff can focus on them healing each other, with Ace even helping other members of the Bat-family achieve emotional stability, such as Jason Todd.

Other spinoffs can deal with Krypto adjusting to Clark and Lois' marriage, with a time-jump possibly having him as Jon's guardian or the ward of Supergirl. Merton can adjust as a speedster with Barry Allen, Wally and such in the Flash family, maybe even giving her a time-trip through the Speed Force as she seeks true love. Conversely, PB can help Diana, Donna Troy and Cassie in their own Wonder Woman adventures.

As for Chip, he'd have a ton of fights out in space to deal with under Jessica's watch, which can even bring the likes of Teen Lantern, Kyle Rayner and Simon Baz into play. The point is, with the DC Extended Universe still in flux, these solo flicks can blend humor and action together, carving out their own continuity. It'd form a brand Warner Bros. can get creative with, rather than have fans waiting for live-action takes on these characters that may take years to come to life.
