HBO Max has revealed when DC League of Super-Pets will become available to stream on its platform.

DC League of Super-Pets will premiere on the streaming service on Sept. 26, joining a whole host of other DC animated offerings. The 2022 film finds Krypto, voiced by Dwayne Johnson, embarking upon a quest to save his owner Superman after the Man of Steel is captured by Lex Luthor and his evil pet guinea pig, Lulu. The super-powered dog recruits a ragtag group of animals, all of whom are accidentally bestowed with superpowers, as they venture out into the world to rescue the imprisoned Justice League.

While the film was only a minor success at the box office this past summer, grossing $177 million against a budget of $90 million, Johnson has stated that the film performed well enough at the box office and with audiences for Warner Bros. to consider a sequel. The actor revealed that there are "major plans" underway to build out the Super-Pets universe "in a big, fun, cool way."

The DC Universe Welcomes Dwayne Johnson

While Super-Pets was Johnson's first major foray into the DC Universe, it will not be his last. The actor is also starring in Black Adam, the latest film in the DC Extended Universe, which opens in theaters this October. In Black Adam, Johnson portrays the titular antihero, a superpowered being who is freed from his earthly tomb 5,000 years after being bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods and ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

While Black Adam will mark Johnson's live-action debut as the character, he previously voiced Black Adam in Super-Pets' post-credits scene. The surprise cameo also featured Anubis, Black Adam's antihero dog, who was also voiced by Johnson. The post-credits scene largely revolved around Anubis and Krypto discussing the term "antihero." Krypto believed there wasn't much separating an antihero from a villain which led Anubis to admit that it is "a fine line" between the two.

The Justice League will also appear in the film with Krasinski, Reeves, Jameela Jamil, Jemaine Clement, John Early, Daveed Diggs and Dascha Polanco respectively voicing Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg and Green Lantern. Marc Maron and Olivia Wilde also star as Lex Luthor and Lois Lane, respectively.
