Everybody knows characters like Hal Jordan and John Stewart have the pure, unadulterated willpower to wield a Green Lantern ring; after all, they've been doing it successfully for years. Even some other DC characters have wielded the emerald jewelry from time to time, but one question that remains unanswered is which Marvel characters could wield it?

The House of Ideas boasts some pretty willful characters in its own right; heroes with the steel will and gumption that makes them prime candidates for a Lantern ring. Without further adieu, here are 10 Marvel Heroes Who Would Fit In DC's Green Lantern Corps.

10 DAREDEVIL

Arguably no one in comics has suffered as much as the Man Without Fear. Matt Murdock has lost two girlfriends to his arch-nemesis Bullseye and even died. However, he’s always managed to come back punching, ready to continue fighting crime no matter what the personal cost. That takes a tremendous amount of willpower, one that, if channeled into a power ring, could make him one of the best Green Lanterns in the Corps.

9 THE PUNISHER

Frank Castle is a man possessed. Having lost his family in a mob hit, Castle vowed vengeance by killing all criminals he could find. His sworn mission has seen him abandon his career as a cop and live in some pretty dingy places to keep a low profile.

Having the strength to continue with his mission and not succumb to despair takes an incredible amount of willpower, and it’d be scary to think what the Punisher could do with a Green Lantern ring and nothing but his imagination to fuel it. The Guardians have lifted their no-kill policy before, and should they choose to in Castle’s case, the universe will certainly take notice.

8 BLACK BOLT

As king of the Inhumans, a group of super-powered beings who reside on the moon, Black Bolt is no stranger to responsibility. Ruling over his own people while occasionally putting his nose in terrestrial affairs requires a huge amount of willpower, but it’s not in this area that Black Bolt’s steel will comes into play. Considering the nature of his power, Black Bolt must never speak lest his voice cause untold devastation, thus, keeping his mouth shut at all times proves him worthy of a weapon based in willpower!

7 CAPTAIN MARVEL

Outfitting Captain Marvel with a Green Lantern power ring might seem redundant considering her already formidable power set, but truth be told, nobody would be better suited to be a member of the Corps than Carol Danvers.

She already has experience in universal and galactic policing and works well in groups and teams owing to her military experience. Aside from that, she’s got enough of a formidable will to give even Guy Gardner a reason for pause, so anytime the Guardians deem fit to put a ring on her finger wouldn’t be too soon.

6 DOCTOR STRANGE

Doctor Strange A Separate Reality

Guarding this plane of existence against any and all forms of mystical threat definitely sounds like an overwhelmingly daunting task, but Dr. Strange seems to handle it in stride. This is due in no small part to his incredible mental discipline, which allows him to focus and concentrate on spells and incantations to a degree hitherto unseen in a superhero. This willpower and desire to safeguard the entire universe would make him a prime candidate for the Corps, provided he can get used to working in a team in a non-leadership role.

5 CAPTAIN AMERICA

When it comes to willpower, they don’t make them stronger than Captain America. A veteran of World War II, Cap survived a deep freeze in the Arctic to lead the Avengers through decades of battles against the likes of Thanos and the Masters of Evil.

A consummate soldier with an impeccable moral compass, Cap doesn’t let anything stand in his way from fighting the good fight, and would make an excellent Green Lantern. His battle prowess and indomitable will would be a formidable asset to the Corps.

4 WOLVERINE

He's the best he is at what he does, and the reason for that has a lot to do with his drive and adamantium-laced will. Like his namesake, Wolverine just will not stop when he's decided on a course of action, especially if he's in the midst of a battle. That type of tenacity would do well in the Green Lantern Corps, much as it has for Guy Gardner all these years. Although authority might be a problem for the diminutive Canadian, the Guardians have dealt with rogues like Hal Jordan and Jack T. Chance before and would have ways to keep Logan in line.

3 SPIDER-MAN

Of all the powers Spider-Man possesses, arguably his greatest is his sense of responsibility and the incredible willpower he exerts in living up to it. After all, it would take an immense load of willpower to literally dig yourself out it of your own grave, as Spidey did during Kraven’s Last Hunt.

Moreover, his ability to physically, mentally, and emotionally endure all the trauma he has in his life while still looking out for the innocent definitely earmarks him for a position in the Green Lantern Corps.

2 STORM

If Ororo Munroe is anything, she’s a survivor. Orphaned at an early age, Ororo resorted to pick-pocketing on the streets of Cairo before Charles Xavier trained her to be the new leader of the X-Men. Within that role, she led the team through some of their toughest battles, and endured immense personal challenges, weathering each storm with grace and tremendous willpower. A perfect candidate for membership in the Green Lantern Corps, Storm’s leadership experience and stolid ability to stay the course would be an immeasurable boon to the Corps.

1 BLACK PANTHER

Much like his counterpart Black Bolt, Black Panther is familiar with the duties and responsibilities of ruling a nation. As king of Wakanda, a country that houses technological advances far beyond its terrestrial peers, T’Challa is charged with protecting his people at all costs; a vow he takes extremely seriously.

Black Panther would make a perfect candidate for the Green Lantern Corps. He’s fearless, responsible, and has a strong sense of duty that could benefit not just Wakanda but any sector of the universe the Guardians see fit to assign him.
