The following contains spoilers for The Flash #794 from DC Comics

Following an ambiguous moment in the previous issue, Wally West truly appears to be dead in DC's The Flash #794.

The Flash #794 comes from writer Jeremy Adams, artists Roger Cruz and Wellington Dias, colorist Luis Guerrero and letterer Rob Leigh. In The Flash #793, Wally West met an unexpectedly tragic fate while embarking on a risky plan to cut off the Fraction's connection to the Speed Force. Wally was last seen disintegrating into thin air after the alien invaders realized what he was up to and used their technology to overwhelm his powers. The same issue also teased the death of Jay Garrick, who was stabbed in the chest by Vel Anthro, one of the Fraction's greatest warriors.

The Flash #794 reveals that, while injured and now trapped inside the Fraction's headquarters, Jay is still alive. Vel Anthro attempts to get some information out of Jay by torturing him; however, Jay manages to escape and is last seen grabbing a weapon while trying to find a way back to the rest of the Flash Family.

The Flash Family Mourns the Death of Wally West

Wally's death, meanwhile, appears to be sticking, as he doesn't make a reappearance in The Flash #794. Rather, Wally's daughter Irey learns about her father's death from Barry Allen. In response, Irey tries to get the Fraction to open up their gates so she can get some much-deserved revenge, though the efforts prove unsuccessful and are ultimately cut short when Linda Park shows up. Linda saw Wally become disintegrated in the previous issue but has hardly had any time to grieve and the moment between her and Irey give both characters a moment to pause, hug and reflect on what they've lost.

Wally has either died or was presumed to be dead several times in the comics before, most recently during Tom King and Clay Mann's Heroes in Crisis series (although, it was later revealed this version of Wally was from the future). Flash's "One-Minute War" event continues on Mar. 21, 2023, with The Flash #795. The synopsis for the issue reads, "The Flash Family retreats, mourning the loss of their family members, while Barry tries to find a way to stop the Fraction once and for all. Surprises abound as the past is revisited and we hurtle toward the end of the One-Minute War!"

The Flash #794 features cover and variant cover art by Taurin Clarke and additional variants by Marco D'Alfonso, George Kambadais, Eleonora Carlini, Jerry Ordway and Alex Sinclair. The issue is on sale now from DC.
